Then it may be you we are looking for for a coordinating teacher role in Væksthuset at Kirke Saaby School.

We are seeking a teacher with strong didactic and special education competencies who will help develop our special provision. You must be able to lead, inspire your colleagues and set the direction for the pedagogical and didactic work while participating in teaching and daily practice on equal footing with your colleagues.

It is a position for someone who is motivated to create development together with others, but who also knows that development requires someone who takes initiative, asks the important questions, and is persistent in the chosen direction.

Væksthuset is a special provision with its gaze firmly aimed at the community

Væksthuset is Lejre Municipality’s special provision at Kirke Saaby School for students with socio-emotional difficulties, who need a clearly structured and visually supported learning environment close to the mainstream.

Our children have different prerequisites, strengths and needs. Many have experienced setbacks in school, which can have affected their belief in their own abilities, their learning outcomes and well-being. They may need special support to understand and regulate emotions, handle demands, and engage in relationships and communities.

We believe that children do well when they can, and that it is our joint task to create frameworks where they have the opportunity to succeed. It requires adults who meet the children with recognition, clarity and positive expectations, and who continually are curious about how relationships, organization, teaching and pedagogical approaches affect the children’s opportunities to participate and learn.

A clear special educational direction

We are starting to rethink and develop Væksthuset. We want to create a clearer, common special educational practice, where structure, recognizability, visual support and safe relationships go hand in hand with high professional standards and meaningful communities.

We want to work systematically with special pedagogical methods and approaches that help us understand the children’s perspectives, adapt the learning environment, and create better conditions for well-being and development.

Here you have a central role. We expect you to bring solid professional knowledge into play, qualify our choice of methods and help ensure that our pedagogical and didactic work is built on a clear professional direction.

You must be able to challenge habits and assumptions in a constructive way, ask questions about what we usually do, and help us translate professional reflections into concrete actions in everyday life. You should not come with all the answers in advance, but you should have the professional knowledge and the courage to go ahead in the work of finding them.

The coordinating role entails a special responsibility to drive professional development forward. You must be able to set direction, take initiative and create momentum, even when solutions are not readily available, and when there is a need to change established workflows.

That means you should be able to

• Formulate a clear special educational and didactic direction for the work
• Translate professional knowledge into concrete methods, structures and actions in teaching
• Support systematic evaluation and ongoing adjustment of practice
• Inspire and challenge colleagues professionally and contribute to a shared understanding of what works for the children
• Contribute broadly to internal and external collaboration
• Work closely with the immediate leader on priorities, development goals and follow-up.

We expect you to want to take responsibility for more than your own teaching. You should be able to see connections across different groups of children, colleagues and learning environments and contribute to developing a more coherent practice.

At the same time, you will be part of a community where development happens in interaction with others. You must therefore be able to lead without going it alone and help create a culture where we examine our practice, share experiences and take joint responsibility for the children’s development.

Bridge between Væksthuset and the mainstream area

We want to strengthen the collaboration between Væksthuset and the mainstream area so that we can learn from each other more, share professional perspectives and create coherent solutions around the children.

Væksthuset currently consists of three teachers and four pedagogues who work closely with parents, PPR, school leadership and the mainstream area. Teaching follows the national curriculum.

We are in a development process with much to address, and not all solutions are given in advance. On the other hand, we share a common ambition to create an offering where children experience success, development and meaningful participation in the community.

We imagine that you

• Are a qualified teacher, preferably with relevant knowledge within special education and didactics
• Have strong didactic competencies and can plan teaching with a view to both academic progression, well-being and participation
• Have knowledge of relevant special pedagogical methods and approaches, such as visual structure, Low Arousal and preferably SVS
• Can translate theory and professional knowledge into concrete actions and create clarity and recognizability in the children’s daily life
• Are willing to challenge existing practice and can do so with professional weight, curiosity and respect
• Can take initiative, set direction and maintain momentum in development work
• Collaborate constructively with leadership, colleagues, parents, PPR and the mainstream area
