Teachers for the Growth Classes in Ugerløse - make a difference every day

Growth classes are a special offer where teaching, relationship work and therapeutic pedagogy go hand in hand. In the first instance, the offer has started in the lower and middle grades at Ugerløse School.

We are therefore looking for teachers who want to work closely with the students' social, personal and academic development. The subject package is Danish, mathematics and/or English, but we are happy to hear from you if everything else fits.

We are looking for both a teacher for full-time and one or more for part-time.

A little about the offer

Growth classes are a specially designed offer for students who need smaller learning environments, clear adults and a structured everyday life. A class consists of 6-8 students and 4 adults.

A condition you will experience is that the children can be physically active in their behavior, and this places high demands on you as a professional. You can keep calm and regulate the environment so that it becomes conflict-reducing. You stand on the child’s perspective and can handle conflicts and physical behavior within the pedagogical framework.

You believe that when children experience adults who stay put, create safety and help them return to regulation, small – but very meaningful – steps in their development often occur. As an employee you get the opportunity to build strong relationships, see the children grow in self-understanding and experience how your professionalism makes a concrete difference in their daily lives.

Both school and after school

In growth classes we place great emphasis on children meeting familiar adults throughout their day. This means that you as an employee are with the child in the hours when the child is in the offer.

This coherence creates safety, calm and predictability for the children – and is a prerequisite for relationship building, regulation and learning. It requires you to be flexible regarding working hours and vacation periods, and your opportunity to work in a holistic way and experience how continuity and clear relationships make a noticeable difference for the children.

Collaboration, meetings and sparring

Besides daily work, there will be close collaboration on the children with parents, PPR and the Children and Family Department, both attendance at meetings and ongoing dialogue. In addition, your tasks include, among others, to:

• Work relationship- and resource-oriented with the students' social and emotional development.
• Support the students’ regulation, well-being and participation in both the school and after-school part.
• Plan and carry out pedagogical activities in both the teaching and after-school parts.
• Work with psychoeducation, anxiety-reducing pedagogy and clear structure.

What you bring with you

We are looking for someone who thinks creatively, flexibly and innovatively, and you may have experience with starting something new. Not everything is predetermined in advance, and that very fact gives an opportunity to influence practice, contribute with your professionalism and help create an offer that makes sense.

You can bring

• A teacher education with relevant higher education or equivalent relevant further education.
• Perhaps you have experience with treatment work with children and young people – you certainly have the interest.
• You can work with regulation strategies, anxiety-reducing and with social training.
