Herstedøster School is seeking an engaged and capable teacher with insight into special pedagogy.

Right now we are looking for a teacher who also believes that co-teaching - collaboration in teaching, joint planning and development of practice - is particularly valuable. That students' learning and well-being are a shared collective responsibility.

We are looking for the right candidate for a teaching position in the team around our one early-years class (2nd – 4th grade) for students with social and emotional difficulties. You must be able to manage teaching in a class community where subject knowledge and pedagogical work go hand in hand. You must be able to take the main responsibility for mathematics and be able to engage in other early-years subjects.

The position is a permanent full-time role with start on December 1st or as soon as possible thereafter.

• About 50 skilled colleagues, distributed among teachers, pedagogues and teaching assistants.
• 104 wonderful students spread across 13 classes in 5 departments. 8 classes within the autism spectrum in 3 departments and 5 within the social and emotional field in 2 departments.

Competencies we would like to see in you

• You are structured, concrete and visually supportive in your planning and execution of teaching.
• You are able to be calm, relationship-building, acknowledging and in low-arousal in your approach to the students.
• You are curious about each student's particular needs and unique way of learning, as well as the individual student's ability to participate in the community.
• You participate in an equal, team-based collaboration with several professions, and see it as a strength to bring all team members' views and areas of expertise into play.

We work in teams of 3-4 staff. You are never alone with the task and there is close sparring with colleagues, and supervision by PPR. In addition we focus on developing the special educational approach and development through our subject teams in Danish and Mathematics.

We place emphasis on the committed team collaboration, where the individual employee takes responsibility and reflects on own and shared practice. We highly value initiative, motivation and engagement and that you support the team and the department's decisions on the pedagogical direction.

We have an extended school-home collaboration focusing on the students' formation, academic achievement and well-being.

Salary placement is determined after negotiation between the municipality and the negotiating representative organization.

Albertslund Municipality supports the full-time effort in accordance with the Tripartite Agreement on Pay and Working Conditions, and therefore hires predominantly on a 37-hour basis.
