About the job

Gain insight into the engine room of the health service and put your legal knowledge to use. Are you a law student, and would you like to work with health policy? As a student assistant in the Health Authority's Education unit you will get a unique opportunity to dive into the structures and processes that shape the future of the health system.

About Education

You become part of a unit of about 20 employees with many different professional backgrounds. Your colleagues include, among others, nurses, doctors, secretaries, data specialists and social scientists. We work with decisions, quality assurance and regulatory development in the health and education fields, with particular focus on further education and competence development for health personnel.

We are responsible among other things for the specialty training, including the inspectorate scheme and the allocation of clinical basic doctors. We also handle tasks related to the specialty education of dentists and nurses, psychologists' practical training and specialty education, paramedics and a number of other professional groups and education areas. In addition, we have duties under the Health Act, including related to highly specialized treatment of Danish patients abroad.

Your day-to-day with us

As a student assistant you will be an active part of our unit and will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of legal tasks. You will gain experience with concrete agency work, decisions and the regulations that set the framework for education of health professionals in the health service. You will, among other things, be able to work with:

  • tasks related to concrete case processing and overview of the Health Authority's decision practice
  • work with regulations, guidelines and other rules, including legal assistance in connection with development and interpretation of the rules
  • first draft of legal notes on, among other things, administrative law questions and rules.

You will primarily work under supervision of the unit's lawyer and will have the opportunity to follow and handle concrete cases yourself. At the same time you join an interdisciplinary environment where you cooperate closely with doctors and nurses and use your legal expertise to qualify the overall case handling.

We know that law studies require time and planning – and we therefore prioritize that the working hours (10 hours per week) are adapted to your schedule. The work takes place during daytime on weekdays between 8 and 16 but with flexibility during examination periods.

With us you have the opportunity to combine your studies with practical legal experience in an authority that helps shape the framework for the health personnel who make up the future health service.

Your education, experience and personal qualifications

We are looking for you who

  • are a law student and have an interest in public administration work, education and the health service
  • thrive in a busy and intellectually curious environment with a desire to work with a wide range of legal issues
  • are structured, proactive and good at collaborating
  • are well articulated in writing and can convey legal issues clearly and precisely
  • have an eye for both detail and the bigger picture and want to bring your legal expertise into play in a cross-disciplinary environment
  • wish to gain greater insight into both the Danish health service and the Health Authority's role.

It is advantageous if you have completed the first years of law studies and have a solid foundation in legal methodology. However, the most important is that you want to learn and are ready to gradually take on independent legal tasks.

We offer

An exciting workstation with varied and challenging tasks, where you get the opportunity to build experience with legal public administration work and gain insight into a wide range of issues in the health service. You will work together with skilled colleagues in a diligent and cross-disciplinary work environment. Our everyday life is energetic, social, informal and characterized by a strong focus on professional engagement and mutual respect and short path from question to action.

Employment is made in accordance with the applicable central agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Servants' Organizations (OAO central agreement) and the organizational agreement between the Ministry of Finance and HK/Stat for office clerks, laboratory technicians and IT staff (HK), in accordance with the agreement provisions concerning hourly paid employees.
