About the job
Are you motivated by working with LCA and translating data as well as analyses into concrete insights that support the green transition in Denmark's largest multi-utility?
At HOFOR we work every day to create the sustainable supply of the future and reduce the climate and environmental impact of our activities. Here, life cycle assessments (LCA) are a central tool in the effort. Through LCA we illuminate the climate and environmental impacts from projects, materials and various solution options so we can make better decisions.
We have already established a solid professional foundation with methods, tools and experience. At the same time, demand for LCA screenings and calculations across the organization is growing. Therefore we are seeking an LCA consultant who will strengthen our capacity and contribute to translating LCA analyses into concrete value in HOFOR's supply.
Translate LCA into concrete decision bases
As an LCA consultant your primary task will be to support HOFOR's supply areas with LCA screenings, calculations and professional guidance. You will work closely with project managers, engineers and specialists to make visible the climate and environmental impacts from projects, materials and solution choices.
You will become part of an established LCA effort and will have a close collaboration with your professional sparring partner and the LCA lead, who has the group-wide responsibility for the area. Here you also have the opportunity to develop further as an LCA specialist. At the same time you join a multidisciplinary team with high professionalism, knowledge sharing and close collaboration.
You will take on an analytical role with responsibility to define problems, collect and quality-check data and carry out LCA screenings and calculations. An important part of the work is to translate the results into clear insights that can be used in concrete decisions.
More specifically, your tasks will be
- Conduct LCA screenings, calculations and analyses for projects across HOFOR's supply areas
- Collaborate with the business to define analyses and identify relevant data sources
- Collect, structure, quality-check and analyze data for use in LCA calculations
- Translate analyses and results into clear conclusions and decision bases
- Convey professional assessments to project managers, specialists and other relevant colleagues
- Contribute to development and maintenance of common LCA methods, standards, data foundations and tools
- Support the continued use and anchoring of LCA across HOFOR
Experience with LCA and a desire to develop
We imagine that you have a relevant master's degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering or a related field, e.g. as a civil engineer, cand.scient.techn. or similar.
You may be newly graduated or have a few years of experience. The most important is that you have worked with LCA through student jobs, projects or professional experience and have knowledge of relevant methods, databases and tools as well as motivation to build on your professional foundation.
We also place emphasis on the following
- Work in a structured manner with calculations, data quality and documentation
- Are analytical and can familiarise yourself with new technical problems
- Take responsibility for your tasks and are proactive when you lack data or sparring
- Thrive in collaboration with different professional backgrounds and can translate their knowledge into usable analyses
- Communicate results and professional assessments clearly and professionally in Danish
It is advantageous if you have experience from construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities, but it is not a requirement.
Your new colleagues are ready to welcome you
You will become part of Strategic Sustainability & Innovation, where we work across HOFOR with strategic sustainability, innovation and development of the supply of the future.
We are a multidisciplinary team with different professional profiles. Some work with strategy and direction, while others drive analyses, projects and development programs. What unites us is that we collaborate closely with the business to translate goals and professional knowledge into solutions that create value in practice.
As mentioned, you will have close collaboration with our LCA Lead, but you will also be part of a team where we share knowledge, help each other and challenge each other professionally. At the same time we have an informal tone and focus on collaboration, wellbeing and a sustainable working life. You will report to section head Maja Yhde.
