Leader for Sikkerneq in Ilulissat

Nursery Sikkerneq in Ilulissat, Avannaata Municipality seeks a leader for hire November 1, 2026 or by further agreement.

The leader's immediate supervisor is the Chief of Daycare Services, Avannaata Municipality

Tasks and responsibilities

·Work based on the political objectives for the children and youth area in Avannaata Municipality

·Quality improvement of the staff's professional and personal competences through internal and external theme days, professional activities and courses

·Introduce new pedagogical working methods

·Ensure a sound and safe day-care institution for children, parents and staff

·Prepare an information leaflet about the day-care

·Work purposefully with new ideas and policies

·Daily close collaboration with the deputy head

Attributes

·Educator by training

·Experience with staff management and administration in a day-care

·Be responsible, have an overview and the ability to empathize and adapt.

·Able to handle stressful situations, and be flexible, cooperative, approachable and stable

·Physically and mentally good health, and an open and cheerful mood

·Be prepared to work according to the day-care's objectives and action plans

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the collective agreement in force at the time of the start between the Naalakkersuisut and the negotiating organization.

A housing is provided for the position.

Employment is conditional on satisfactory criminal record checks, which will be obtained by the employer from the National Police after the applicant's signature.
