Lykkesgårdskolen is looking for a Head of Department for the Upper School

Lykkesgårdskolen seeks a development-oriented and visionary department head for the upper grades and for administrative leadership. Your leadership should be dialog-oriented. You will become part of a leadership team with the school principal and the deputy principal. We need you to be a person who is action-oriented and good at completing tasks.

You should be able to see yourself in a team that rests on the following guiding rules: We are attentive to each other's tasks and inquire about them. We build on successes and highlight when something goes well. Everyone contributes to Lykkesgårdskolen's progress. If there are disagreements, we inquire into them and resolve them together.

Lykkesgårdskolen is a municipal public school with about 525 pupils and about 65 staff. The school is located in Varde South and consists of a 2-3-track general school with pupils from 0th to 9th grade. We are a department-delimited school, such that employees are attached to a department and, as a rule, have most of their hours there. We are continually working to be a subject-expert school that sets high goals for students' learning. We are a practicum school for teacher and pedagogue students.

Your main task is divided into two areas

One leg will be pedagogical leadership and development in the upper secondary with staff and students.

The other leg will be administrative leadership of the school.

We expect that you have a teacher education and some years of experience in the area. It is a position with full leadership time; there is no planned teaching time, and leadership experience will therefore be an advantage.

Other tasks

• Administrative tasks in and maintenance of the school's administrative systems: tests, final exams, assignment overviews, timetable planning, TRIO, AULA etc.
• IT skills with insight into and development of the school's IT systems
• Staff management in the upper secondary
• Parent cooperation in the upper secondary
• Transitions to upper secondary education
• Cross-disciplinary collaboration for students in difficulty

Salary and employment

We expect that you can take up the position no later than 1/1 2027. Salary by agreement between Varde Municipality and the Association of School Leaders.
