Chief Engineer / Ship's Engineer for the Anholt Ferry

Take technical responsibility for the island's lifeline

Anholt Ferry is more than just a ship; it is a vital lifeline for Anholt's residents and the many tourists who visit the Kattegat island each year. We are looking for a skilled watchkeeping engineer or ship's engineer who is passionate about safe operation, good seamanship and strong teamwork.

The ferry is based on Anholt, and you will be part of a 1-1 shift.

If you live elsewhere in the country, we offer attractive on-site housing while you are on the job.

Your primary tasks

As the technical person in charge aboard you will have your hands on the machinery and an overview of the operation. Your tasks are wide-ranging:

• Major responsibility for the ferry's technical condition, so that sailing always takes place in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
• Planning and execution of maintenance tasks on board in accordance with the ship owner’s, classification society’s and Danish Maritime Authority's requirements.
• Ensure propulsion and high professional standards in daily ship operation.
• Collaboration and cooperation with the shipowner, the ferry's management and crew regarding optimization of work processes.

Who are you?

We imagine that you have experience with maintenance of ships and thrive in a role where you must both plan and perform practical tasks. As a person you are outgoing, solution-oriented and actively contribute to a good working environment. You have an inclusive working style and the ability to make your colleagues look good.

Professional requirements

• You hold a valid nautical certificate as Skibsmaskinist of 1st class (preferably higher).
• You have all other required and valid certificates to sail in the position.
• You work in a structured way and have a high safety awareness.
