Maternity leave substitute for Rybners Technical Gymnasium

We are looking for a maternity leave substitute for the subjects biology and possibly chemistry from January 2027

As one of our biology teachers goes on maternity leave, we are seeking a maternity leave substitute from January to and including June 2027.

This is a fixed-term part-time position for teaching 2 biology classes, but there could also be a need to cover 1-2 chemistry classes, with the right candidate.

At HTX, much of the teaching is project-oriented and hands-on with a basis in workshops and laboratories, so it would be a clear advantage if you have practical experience – either from work in a laboratory or an engineering company.

Rybners HTX has around 220 students and 27 staff and is located in the northern part of Esbjerg. Rybners HTX is part of Rybners Gymnasier.

Rybners Gymnasier consists of three high schools: STX, HHX and HTX. We are about 165 teachers. Rybners Gymnasium is located at two addresses - Grådybet (STX and HHX) and Spangsbjerg Møllevej (HTX). At both addresses we have good facilities and good rooms.

Professional qualifications

• You have or are almost finished with a higher education at master’s level in one or more of the mentioned subjects.
• You must be able to participate in close team collaboration with the other teachers, managers and pedagogical staff.
• You have an interest in pedagogical development and are interested in developing and maintaining your competencies.
• It is an advantage if you have practical experience or possibly a craft/technical education.
• Having completed the pedagogical qualification is desirable, but not a requirement.

Personal qualifications

• You must be passionate about your subjects and about being a role model for the gymnasium’s students.
• You should enjoy working with young people and skilled colleagues in an active educational environment.
• You should be able to work both independently and in collaboration with colleagues in a subject team or around a class.
• You should have a good sense of humor, be empathetic and have a positive outlook on life.

Salary and terms of employment

Employment is in accordance with the applicable Circular on the state employees' collective agreement. The salary is determined according to the Ny Løn principles.

The position is part-time at 9.25 hours per week, but possibly more for the right candidate.

Depending on your professional experience you will be placed on pay grade 4–8, corresponding to a base wage of between DKK 8,573.97 and 11,142.42 at 9.25 hours, including collective agreement allowances. An 18.07% full employer-paid pension is provided. Additional allowances may be agreed based on relevant experience and qualifications.

Prior to employment you will be asked electronically to consent to us obtaining a criminal record and a child protection clearance.
