Deputy Property Manager for Operations and Building at Amager and Hvidovre Hospital - Center for Real Estate

Would you like to be at the center of the daily management of a technically complex hospital operation and help ensure that people, professions and tasks are moving in the same direction?

As Deputy Property Manager in Operations and Building AHH, you will be the property manager's closest managerial sparring partner and deputy. You will have the daily managerial responsibility for the professional leads and the support area and become an important part of the leadership that brings the technical operation, projects and the hospital's needs together.

It is a role with many interfaces and a large leadership responsibility. You will get close to the everyday work and must be able to create direction when different considerations, professional disciplines and needs meet.

A leadership role close to operations

The hospital's technical operation never stands still. Planned tasks must function side by side with projects, maintenance and the issues that arise along the way.

Your task is not to know all technical solutions in detail. Instead, you must be able to create an overview and ensure that the right people are involved, and that there is follow-up.

It requires clear communication and a leader who can build commitment among experienced professionals. You must be able to give the leads room to drive their areas and at the same time maintain a common direction across them.

Your most important tasks will be to

• Be responsible for the daily management of the professional leads and the support area
• Be the closest sparring partner to the property manager and step in as deputy
• Create clear priorities and ensure that decisions and agreements are translated into action
• Keep the most important interfaces between operations, projects and the hospital's needs coordinated
• Follow the development in finances, resources and risks and ensure that action is taken when something requires attention

In the longer term you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of workflows, governance and the overall overview in the organization.

You are primarily a leader

We are looking for someone who already has a solid leadership foundation and experience in line management.

You know that good leadership is about setting direction and being clear when something needs to be prioritized or changed. At the same time, you are able to build trust and bring people with you.

In an organization with strong professional disciplines you will not always be the person who knows the technical issue best. You must be comfortable with that. Your strength lies in asking the right questions, creating clarity and ensuring that the organization's knowledge is turned into good decisions.

You also have the necessary calm and judgment to navigate a daily life where there is not always one simple solution.

You must understand the technical reality

Your experience may come from property management, utilities, industry, hospital or another technical and operations-intensive organization.

The crucial thing is that you understand what it takes to run technically complex buildings and installations, where stable operation has great significance for the organization they support.

You do not need to have previously covered the full breadth of a role at this level. On the other hand, your leadership foundation must be so strong that you can take responsibility from the start and at the same time have the potential to grow with the task.

Part of the Center for Properties

Operations and Building AHH is part of the Center for Properties in the Capital Region and is responsible for buildings, technical installations, maintenance and projects on Amager and Hvidovre Hospital as well as associated parcels.

The Center for Properties manages around two million square meters of property in total. At the hospitals, many different professional disciplines work together on the physical framework on which patient care and the hospital's other functions depend.

As Deputy Property Manager you thus get a role with real managerial breadth and an opportunity to influence both daily operations and the way the organization develops.
