Medical students sought for permanent night shift at Bjerggårdshaven

Do you have experience as an SPV, and would you like to use your skills in a permanent team where you make a difference for citizens with acquired brain injury? The on-call roster is looking for about 8 medical students for a fixed night-shift team at Bjerggårdshaven in Odense near Seden. Here you will be part of a team that collectively covers the night shifts in House 3, where up to six citizens live in a temporary neurorehabilitation course.

We are looking for both team members and a team leader who want to take responsibility and help create a safe and well-functioning collaboration within the team.

About the job Bjerggårdshaven is a housing and rehabilitation center for citizens with acquired brain injury. The residents often have complex functional limitations and need support and rehabilitation for a period while they work on regaining skills and moving forward in life.

As part of the night shift, there are always two on duty from the team and you play an important role in creating security for the residents and ensuring that their needs are met during the night. The team has 100% coverage obligation and a back-up shift is triggered in case of illness.

Your tasks will include

• Supervise sleeping residents during the night.
• Respond to and answer calls from residents if they wake up.
• Help residents prepare for appointments, e.g. at OUH.
• Carry out personal hygiene and support mobilization if residents wake up.
• Contribute to a safe and respectful night for the residents.

The tasks may vary depending on the residents' individual needs and current programs. You will receive an introduction to the tasks, and training will be provided if needed.

Become part of a fixed team We will assemble a fixed team of about eight medical students who together cover the night shifts at Bjerggårdshaven.

This means you will not just take a few random shifts, but become part of a team with shared responsibility for the task. You can expect about 2-3 shifts per week, including any back-up shifts.

We emphasize that the team functions well together and that everyone contributes to a safe and professional collaboration.

• Are a medical student and have passed 4th semester.
• Have at least 200 hours of experience as an SPV.
• Are responsible, stable and good at teamwork.
• Can work independently and maintain an overview.
• Meet people with respect, care and understanding for their situation.
• Are eager to join a fixed team where you help each other and share responsibility.

Do you want to be the team leader? We also seek a team leader who will have a special role in getting the team to function well in everyday life.

As a team leader you will become an important point of contact within the team, responsible for shift planning and contribute to coordination, collaboration and a good dialogue about tasks. You should be willing to take responsibility and help ensure that the team functions as a cohesive unit.

Employment and start

• Workplace: Bjerggårdshaven, House 3, Odense near Seden.
• Working hours: Night shifts all days of the week, Monday to Sunday.
• Shift times: 22:45-06:45 or 23:15-07:15.
• Employment: Fixed-term employment from January 1 (shift starts 31/12 at 23) to and including 31 March with the possibility of extension.
• Introduction: Introduction planned in December and on individual days in January.
• Extent: Expected 2-3 shifts per week including any back-up shifts.
