The Danish Environmental Protection Agency seeks a jurist with a flair for environmental law and administrative law

The Environmental Protection Agency is seeking a lawyer for our team handling fishing permits.

You will join a new agency that is still under development, and where frameworks, tasks and organization are in flux. At the same time you will be part of a professional area central to the regulation of the fishing industry, characterized by high legal complexity and strong political attention.

A significant part of the office's tasks relate to the fisheries sector, where we want to strengthen the management of environmental-law aspects in connection with issuing permits for fishing, etc. There will therefore be opportunities to help develop environmental law as a working area in the agency.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for both those who are experienced in legal advisory within public administration and those who have just graduated. You may have experience from another public authority, company or law firm. We imagine that from previous employment you have experience with concrete case handling.

You will often need to collaborate with colleagues with different professional backgrounds, therefore we emphasize that you can communicate your legal advice to other disciplines, and that you can find solutions that can be translated into practical everyday life. We also value that you have an interest in politics, and that you are an approachable person who contributes positively to a good atmosphere in the office.

Employment terms

Employment will, depending on qualifications, take place as an assistant (fuldmægtig), specialist- or chief consultant in accordance with the currently applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (the Akademiker Agreement).

The position is a full-time role with start as soon as possible and no later than 1 January 2027.

The employing area is the Ministry of the Environment with its associated institutions, and the duty station is Lindholm Brygge 31, 9400 Nørresundby.
