Musical and singing teacher for the Performance Academy Sønderborg

Performance Akademiet Sønderborg is a part of Sønderborg Musikskole. We are a dynamic music school with MGK, talent lines and ballet school.

We are seeking a musical- and singing teacher to start in January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. You must have a strong professional profile, pedagogical flair and a relevant education as an actor or musical performer and preferably experience in staging productions. This is a temporary position until 30 June 2027 with the possibility of extension.

We can offer you a weekly working day in a creative environment with 34 theatre-loving young people distributed across two groups. The students in the two groups are this season aged 9-12 and 13-15 respectively. In addition to drama, students receive a weekly singing lesson.

This season we are presenting a large musical in May and we are in full swing with the preparations.

Your tasks in collaboration with the daily manager of Performance Academy are to

• Teach singing and on-stage performance.
• Coach the students with a starting point in the upcoming production.
• Help fine-tune characters and roles up to the production.
• Quickly develop a deep familiarity with the script and contribute by improvising and adjusting to local conditions.

We expect that you

• Have an eye for good collaboration with your colleagues around teaching and performances and also participate in season planning
• Consider it a given to be well-prepared and structured about your work
• See it as a natural task to have a good dialogue with your students and their parents
