The Nature Agency Blåvandshuk is seeking a forest ranger with staff housing on Fanø

Tasks and organisation

We are part of Naturstyrelsen's 16 nationwide local units and a head office located in Randbøl. Blåvandshuk currently employs 20 civil servants and four forest and nature technicians and administers approx. 17,500 ha forest and nature areas, of which a little under half are forested and designated as untouched forest.

We primarily work with outdoor life, nature management and nature restoration to ensure a rich and varied natural and animal life.

In addition, we manage wildlife management for an area covering from Fanø to Skive, and finally the Schweiss Secretariat is located at the unit.

About the job

Your work tasks will mainly take place on mainland areas. Here you will both work independently and with the other staff to solve tasks within nature management, forest operations and for the public.

You will as the Nature Agency's only employee on Fanø play a central role in dialogue and collaboration with external partners and in servicing the local users. You will be involved in planning and carrying out the Agency's tasks on Fanø.

Your profile

We expect you to have a relevant education such as a forestry and nature technician or another nature-oriented education with emphasis on practical skills. The important thing is that you can see yourself as the Nature Agency's representative on a busy holiday island and in a small community.

Specifically we would like you to

• have experience with the operation of various outdoor facilities and areas with a large number of visitors.
• have experience with forestry work, including work with a chainsaw.
• have experience with animal care including animal supervision.
• have a good teamwork spirit, meaning that your colleagues can count on you in daily task solving.
• be a good colleague who always brings the best version of yourself to work.
• be prepared to work independently on a periodic basis, and be able to take responsibility for planning and managing tasks.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees' Organizations – the state sector as well as the applicable organizational agreement for gardeners, animal keepers, foresters and nature technicians, etc., and the local agreements entered into herewith.

For the position there is an attached official residence with a domicile obligation, located at Postvejen 40, 6720 Fanø.

The employment area is the Nature Agency Blåvandshuk, Ålholtvej 1, 6840 Oksbøl.

A driver's license for a passenger car is required.
