About the job

Do you have experience with networks and infrastructure – and are you more motivated by a difficult technical problem than by a finished recipe?

In PET's Center for Computer Network Exploitation (CNE) we work with hacking as part of PET's operational work. We are looking for a technical specialist who will help design and build the network infrastructure that makes our operations possible.

CNE is, in short, a professional field where we work to understand and extract information from digital systems and networks. It requires technical depth, creative problem solving, and the ability to find solutions to problems where the answer is not necessarily predefined. Your task will be to bring your knowledge of networks and infrastructure into that world.

You will come close to PET’s secret operations and work side by side with other network specialists, hackers, and vulnerability researchers. You will therefore not just build infrastructure without knowing the purpose. You will be part of the technical team around the operations and gain insight into what your solutions must be able to do and why.

With us you do not always get a finished architecture or a manual to follow. Sometimes you get a need or a technical problem and you must find the best way forward yourself. It requires technical curiosity and good ability to take responsibility for your own tasks. In return you get a lot of technical freedom, skilled professionals around you, and the opportunity to work on problems you won't find elsewhere. We also offer specialized courses and education that are not available elsewhere.

What will you be working with?

You will be part of the work to design, build and further develop networks and technical infrastructure for our operative needs. You do not need to know everything in advance – we expect you to come with a solid technical foundation and the willingness to learn the rest.

You will among other things

  • Design and build network and infrastructure solutions from scratch.
  • Configure and further develop network equipment, firewalls, routers and VPN solutions.
  • Investigate and test new technologies, products and technical possibilities.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems across networks, systems and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on technical challenges and solutions.
  • Take responsibility for technical ideas and projects and help translate them from needs into a functioning solution.

We work closely together and use each other’s professional strengths, but we also expect you to be willing to take on a problem yourself and drive it forward.

Sometimes we know exactly what we need to build. Other times the task starts more simply: “ We need to be able to do this. How do we solve it? ”

That is often where the job becomes truly interesting.

Who are you?

We are not looking for a specific degree or a specific number of years of experience. You just need to have a solid technical foundation in networks and infrastructure.

You may already work as a network specialist or network engineer, but you may also have had it as a hobby.

You do not necessarily need to have previously worked with hacking or CNE. We can teach you that. We offer good opportunities for both onboarding, specialized courses and education, and we are happy to invest in people with the right technical potential and the right curiosity.

The start date is January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible. We expect to begin interviews in week 44. You can read more about PET's entire recruitment process at www.PET.dk/job.
