About the job
A rare opportunity – become a night staff member at Hansted Kloster
It has been more than 10 years since we last recruited a permanent night staff member at Hansted Kloster. Now one of our colleagues is retiring, and therefore you have a rare opportunity to become part of our permanent night team.
We are seeking a committed and professionally grounded night staff member for a permanent position with start on February 1, 2027.
Do you thrive on taking responsibility, working independently and at the same time being part of a close collegial collaboration? Do you have the calm, overview and professional understanding that is needed to create security for people with mental health challenges?
Then it might be you we are looking for as our new colleague.
The position involves awake night work from 23:00 to 07:00 in a 7/7 arrangement, where you work seven nights and then have seven consecutive days off.
At Hansted Kloster there are always two employees on duty at night. Together you are responsible for creating security, handling situations that arise, and ensuring a good start to the day for both residents and staff.
Who are we?
Hansted Kloster is a social-psychiatric housing and treatment offering under OK-Fonden Enghaven. We are located in scenic surroundings close to Horsens and are home to 24 adult residents with various mental and social challenges.
We work from a basis of environmental therapy, recovery-oriented rehabilitation and a relationship-based approach, where respect, recognition and high professional standards are central elements.
We are a cross-disciplinary staff group with both health and social care competencies. We place emphasis on collaboration, professional reflection and helping each other – also across departments and shifts.
Your role as a night staff member
As a night staff member you are an important part of the residents’ daily life and of the overall milieu-therapeutic effort.
The night is not necessarily a time when everyone sleeps. For some residents, the night hours may be characterized by restlessness, worries or a need for support and presence.
You work together with a colleague through the night, where you help each other, divide the tasks and collaborate on any situations that may arise.
We are involved in resetting the day
At Hansted Kloster the night team has a special task: We help reset the day so a new and fresh day can begin for both our residents and staff.
This means that you not only create calm and security through the night, but also contribute to the house being ready for a new day.
Through presence, professional observations, documentation, cleaning and other practical tasks you help create overview, order and good conditions.
When morning staff arrive, they should encounter a house where the night tasks have been taken care of and where important information has been passed on.
As a night staff member you are also part of the OK-Fonden Enghaven community. If acute situations occur in other departments, we help each other across.
Your tasks include, among others
- Creating calm, security and presence for residents during the night.
- Supporting residents who experience unrest, anxiety or other mental health challenges.
- Observing and responding to changes in residents’ mental and physical state.
- Preventing and handling conflicts with a calm and de-escalating approach.
- Carrying out medication management according to applicable instructions and guidelines.
- Documenting relevant observations and interventions.
- Ensuring good handover to other staff.
- Assisting other departments in OK-Fonden Enghaven with acute situations.
- Carrying out fixed cleaning tasks, including cleaning of common areas, and other practical tasks.
- Contributing to the house being ready for a new day.
Nights can vary. Some are quiet and allow for a structured approach to planned tasks, while others require you to re-prioritize and cooperate on unforeseen situations. Residents’ needs and security always come first.
Who are you?
We mainly seek staff with a health care education, for example social and health care assistants
If you have another relevant professional background and experience with people with mental health challenges, we would still like to hear from you.
It is an advantage if you have experience from social psychiatry.
We particularly value that you
- Are calm, trustworthy and stable.
- Have sound professional judgment and work responsibly.
- Thrive in close collaboration where you help each other and share responsibility.
- Meet people with respect, curiosity and recognition.
- Can maintain overview and act professionally in unforeseen situations.
- Are flexible and willing to help other departments in acute needs.
- See cleaning and practical tasks as a natural part of the job.
- Work in a structured way and take responsibility for getting tasks done.
- Are good at communicating and documenting.
- Are reliable in attendance and comfortable with the special rhythm of night work.
For us it is important that you can take responsibility for your own tasks and contribute to your colleagues’ success together.
What can we offer you?
At Hansted Kloster you become part of a workplace where we prioritise residents’ well-being, the work environment for staff and professional development.
We offer
- A permanent position in a 7/7 arrangement with good opportunities for consecutive time off.
- A stable night team where there are always two staff on duty at night.
- A meaningful job with great importance for residents’ security and quality of life.
- A thorough introduction to residents, our working methods and daily routines.
- A professionally strong and engaged colleague community.
- Opportunity for professional sparring, supervision and competence development.
- Cross-department collaboration within OK-Fonden Enghaven.
- An workplace focused on integrity, psychological safety and an open and respectful dialogue.
- A management that emphasizes clear boundaries, mutual trust, professional sparring and an open dialogue about tasks and the working environment.
