About the job

Here you are never alone – but you are allowed to stand on your own two feet The clock is 7.15.

The day shift is underway. A patient needs DC conversion, another has become unwell during the night, and a third needs a little extra time and attention.

Then the plan changes.

A patient needs to be transferred urgently. A colleague needs sparring. The phone is ringing.

You must be able to keep an overview, use your professionalism and prioritise when reality changes.

But you are never alone.

For us, good nursing is about being able to stand on your own two feet and about knowing when to reach out.

That is the balance we want to give you the opportunity to develop.

And perhaps it is precisely you we are missing as our new colleague.

________________________________________

A place where you are allowed to grow Maybe you are a newly qualified nurse and about to find your own path in nursing.

Maybe you have several years of experience and want to try your hand at cardiology.

Or maybe you are already working with heart patients and looking for new professional challenges.

Regardless of where you come from, we do not expect you to know everything when you start.

We expect that you want to learn.

With us you get a thorough onboarding process, where you are introduced to the wards and followed by experienced nurses who help you settle into both the clinical everyday life and the community.

You get support when you need it.

You get the opportunity to ask.

You get the opportunity to practise.

And gradually you get more responsibility.

After about 6-8 months you can take our basic education in cardiology, and after two years you have the opportunity to pursue postgraduate training in cardiology.

In addition you can be trained in different roles, including as Responsible Nurse, coordinating nurse, DC nurse and have the opportunity to take on responsibility for professional areas that interest you.

We help you on your way – but we also want to see you grow into your own professionalism.

________________________________________

A daily life where your professional skills are used Cardiovascular Ward has 24 beds and works closely with our 20 emergency beds in the Acute Building. You will be on both wards.

We treat both cardiological and general medical patients.

That means you can meet the acutely affected patient who needs to be acted on quickly, and the patient where good clinical judgment, observation and time are decisive.

You will experience that some days go fast.

Other days allow for deepening.

And often both happen on the same shift.

We collaborate closely across professional groups – with doctors, nurses, social- and health care assistants, therapists, service assistants and secretaries.

We also collaborate with specialty wards across the Region of Zealand as well as Rigshospitalet and Odense University Hospital.

Therefore you get both the opportunity to use what you already can, and to discover all that you do not yet know you can.

________________________________________

You may ask: "Why do we do it this way?" We are a department in development.

We continuously work on our workflows, procedures, quality and patient safety because we believe things can be done better.

Therefore we hope you are curious.

That you dare to ask questions.

That you want to share your ideas.

And that you have the courage to take responsibility.

If you see something that can be done differently, we would like to hear about it.

If you want to delve into a professional area, there is an opportunity for that.

If you want to take greater responsibility, we would like to help you find the path.

You do not only need to learn our way of doing things. You also have the opportunity to help develop it.

________________________________________

You are never alone That applies not only when you are new.

It also applies when you have been here a long time.

Because even the most experienced nurse can find themselves in a situation where there is a need for an extra assessment, another perspective or just a few extra hands.

We place emphasis on helping each other.

That we use each other’s professionalism.

That it is safe to say "I am in doubt".

And that you can ask a colleague without feeling that you should know the answer in advance.

With us, being able to stand on your own feet is not the same as standing alone.

________________________________________

And it should be nice to be here A good working life also depends on the people you share the daily life with.

We are a large team of nurses and social- and health care assistants, and we prioritise both the professional and social community.

We spar.

We help.

We learn from each other.

And we also laugh together.

Because there must be room for both.

We prioritise the social aspect both at the workplace and after working hours.

________________________________________

Perhaps it is you we are looking for You are a qualified nurse and have Danish authorization – new graduate or experienced – and want to work with both acute and stable patients with cardiological and general medical issues.

You are curious about your profession and want to develop yourself.

You can take responsibility and prioritise when the pace increases.

You dare to ask when you are in doubt.

And you want to be an active part of both the professional and social development in the ward.

You do not need to be able to do everything.

You just have to want to learn, take responsibility and become even more skilled.
