About the job

A secure start. A strong community. Several paths to professional development. Are you a recent graduate and ready for your first job – or an experienced nurse with a desire for new challenges? Perhaps you dream of eventually working with specialized nursing in an outpatient clinic. With us you can build on your professional skills and become part of a specialty with many opportunities.

We are looking for a new colleague for a permanent position in the Urinary Tract Surgery Department L at OUH. The position is anchored in the inpatient ward L1 and includes the opportunity for later functions in our outpatient clinics in Odense or Svendborg.

A strong foundation – and an opportunity to develop yourself All of our nurses start in the inpatient ward. Here you gain insight into the complete patient journey and build a solid foundation in surgical and urological nursing. You work with both acute and planned pathways and develop your clinical eye in close collaboration with experienced colleagues.

When you have gained the necessary competencies, you can develop further towards basic urology and specialized outpatient functions including, among other things, LUTS, the prostate, as well as kidney and bladder. The path depends on your competencies, interests, and the department's opportunities. So you should preferably have ambitions for the outpatient clinic from the beginning.

We share both professionalism and shifts Nurses with outpatient function also remain connected to the inpatient ward. It provides continuity in patient pathways, strengthens our shared competencies, and means that more are involved in sharing the shifts. We want a strong work community with room for professionalism, well-being, and private life.

What you get with us

  • A structured and individually tailored introductory program with mentors, competence cards, and follow-up via MySkills.
  • An active learning environment with teaching, professional sparring, and clear development opportunities.
  • Engaged colleagues who prioritise collaboration, knowledge sharing, humor, and psychological safety.
  • Weekend shift every 4 weeks and great influence on your work schedule.
  • Opportunity to put your experiences to use and contribute to improvement and development of nursing.

Who are you? You are curious about urology, take responsibility for your patients and want to learn together with others. You thrive with a varied patient flow, work well with others and contribute to a positive work and learning environment. Experience with surgical or urological nursing is a plus, but not a requirement – we provide a thorough introduction.

A little about the department We are a highly specialized department caring for and treating patients with diseases of the kidneys, urinary tract, bladder, and prostate – from urinary problems and stones to cancer. We have inpatient wards, outpatient clinics in Odense and Svendborg, an operating unit, and a research unit. We work multidisciplinary and focus on good patient pathways, professional development, and close leadership.
