About the job

As one of our permanent nurses goes on maternity leave, we are seeking as of 01.12.2026 or 01.01.2027 a skilled nurse or very experienced SSA for an interesting temporary position in a part-time role between our Headache Outpatient Clinic and the Department of Brain and Nerve Diseases at Slagelse Hospital, with primary function in the headache outpatient clinic. The temporary position can be offered until 31.08.2027 with a possible extension.

Are you interested in, or curious about, headaches? Do you want to work in a position where you have the opportunity to alternate between ambulatory nursing in our Headache Clinic and nursing in our inpatient ward with a larger proportion of hours in the outpatient part? Then you may be our upcoming colleague.

We are looking for a nurse/very experienced SSA who

  • Has Danish authorization.
  • Has a minimum of 1 year of experience as a nurse.
  • Finds it exciting to alternate between the outpatient course and the inpatient course with a predominance of hours in the outpatient department.
  • Has an interest in deepening their knowledge in the subspecialty of headaches, which among other things includes independent check-ups, and if you are a nurse also IV treatment.
  • Can appreciate and manage high multidisciplinary collaboration around the individual patient.
  • Wants to help develop our outpatient clinic and inpatient ward.
  • Is open and welcoming in dialogue with patients, relatives, partners and colleagues.
  • Wants to contribute to a good working environment.
  • Focuses on good patient pathways and good transitions across sectors.
  • Wants to work with both basic and specialized nursing.

You will experience in the position

  • That your assessment as a nurse carries great weight in the multidisciplinary assessment of the individual patient.
  • Close collaboration with colleagues and ample opportunity to develop your nursing competencies, including training in delegated functions in the outpatient clinic.
  • That professionalism, coherence and quality for patients are highly valued.
  • Visible and open leadership with focus on the working environment and development.
  • Two chief nurses who work closely together so you will experience well-being in your shared role.

A little about the outpatient clinic

As a nurse in the outpatient clinic, you will work closely with affiliated physicians and nurses in the Headache Clinic, but you will also largely work with independent nursing consultations after training. You must therefore be motivated to advance within the specialty and to help develop procedures mono- and interprofessionally with a view to achieving the best treatment for our patients.

The Brain and Nervous Diseases Outpatient Clinic is part of a common outpatient clinic within neurology and geriatrics. The outpatient clinic also includes a Memory Clinic and an outpatient clinic for elderly diseases, all under Medicine 3. In the outpatient clinic, patients with various neurological and geriatric problems are seen. There is a strong focus on interdisciplinarity in the outpatient clinic.

In the outpatient clinic we work mostly in teams divided by specific responsibilities and areas of interest.

A little about the inpatient ward

The Department of Brain and Nervous Diseases is an inpatient ward with space for 20 patients at Slagelse Hospital. We can offer our patients single rooms in modern surroundings. Most of our patients come to us for the start of Neurorehabilitation, where we work cross-professionally around the individual patient with a focus on creating good patient pathways. Our patients often have diagnoses such as: stroke, head injuries and cancer.

It is important that you want to work with a complex patient group and see it as an advantage that patients are typically admitted for 6-12 days. This provides an opportunity to get to know them a little better.

We are a department that values a good working environment and helping each other in our daily life.

We have a strong focus on education and competence development. We hold, among other things, "Neuro basics training 1 and 2", participate in the region's SKILLS stations and use our Clinical Competence Center with a focus on training in instrumental nursing. Our orientation program will be tailored to your individual needs depending on your previous experience, but as a rule you are not counted in the normal staffing for the first 4-8 weeks, during which you will be in introduction for about 4 weeks in the inpatient ward and about 4 weeks in the outpatient clinic.

The position is in mixed shifts, but primarily day shift and includes weekend shifts on average every 3 weekends of 8 hours. If you want to work every 2nd weekend, that is also an option. As a rule, 37 hours are offered, but other hour counts may also be possible. We envision a distribution of about 24-29 hours in the outpatient function and about 8-10 hours in the inpatient ward.

Would you like to hear more?

You are welcome to contact the head nurse in the outpatient clinic, Heidi Berit Jensen, on telephone 23618899, email [email protected] or the head nurse in the inpatient ward, Suzette Madsen, on telephone 93567594, email [email protected]

You are welcome to come by to see the department. We gladly offer a cup of coffee.

Application deadline: 19.11.2026

Expected interviews: Week 48
