In Neonates and Family admitted

  • Healthy and ill mothers who have given birth
  • Pre– and postoperative patient pathways for cesarean section
  • Families with sick and preterm infants from 28 weeks gestation
  • Children and mothers who are readmitted up to one month after birth

Our obstetric mothers and neonatal children are treated and cared for in family rooms grouped within the department, which provides high quality and coherence for the admitted families. We focus on the Family Nursing Center, where individual communication and guidance to the whole family are central, as the father/partner is also offered accommodation in the department. We also practice Early Home Stay (THO) programs for premature babies and parents.

Neonates and Family are organized under the Department of Gynecology and Births, and have 22 family rooms. There are close collaboration relationships with the Delivery Ward and the Children – and Adolescent Department. The department is a training site for nursing and midwifery students.

Qualifications and competencies: We are looking for colleagues who are passionate about the specialties, and see professionalism and collaboration go hand in hand

  • Have experience with neonatal/pediatric and/or obstetric nursing, though not a prerequisite
  • Have curiosity and interest in getting to know each individual family, so individualized nursing is achieved
  • Can handle a large patient flow and understand how to communicate with patients and relatives, so care and patient involvement are in focus
  • Have focus on creating continuity in patient pathways for the benefit of both patients and collaborators
  • Are adaptable and possess good collaboration skills both internally and externally in relation to partners
  • Contribute actively to promoting well-being, collaboration and a good working environment with colleagues and partners

We offer

  • An individual guidance and introduction as well as evaluation conversations with the education-responsible nurse and chief nurse
  • Exciting specialties with focus on competence – and quality development
  • Sparring and dialogue about patient pathways
  • Skilled, positive and experienced colleagues with education and competencies at different levels
  • A varied daily life with challenges; in a learning – and inspiring work environment
