About the job

Are you an experienced nurse with an eye for creating good and safe pathways for patients and citizens? We are looking for you who love when things are happening and who thrive with many balls in the air, where everyday life cannot always be planned in advance.

The Visitation Unit at Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospitals is a newly started unit tasked with triaging patients to the acute pathways as well as citizens and patients to the appropriate health professional offerings in close collaboration with the hospital's other services, our collaborating municipalities and actors in our intake area – close to the citizen.

Your everyday life in the Visitation Unit As a nurse in the Visitation Unit you will be a central part of the work to find the right offering for the individual patient or citizen. You must be able to create an overview, make clinical assessments and coordinate across the hospital, municipality, general practice and other health services.

You will handle complex issues where the best solution is not always the most obvious. Therefore your clinical experience, professional judgment and ability to build good collaborations will be decisive.

You must be able to use your professional skills and take responsibility for finding the solution that makes the most sense for the individual patient or citizen – also when the situation does not fit perfectly into the system's framework.

What can you expect?

  • An introduction tailored to you, where you get lots of learning, training, reflection and supervision as well as the opportunity for close cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  • A newly started Visitation Unit in rapid development, where precisely your competences and experiences come into play, and where you get the opportunity to influence development.
  • Opportunity to help translate the health reform from words to action.
  • A cross-disciplinary environment where we know that the best results are created when we find solutions together.
  • The Visitation Unit is covered around the clock all days of the week, and therefore shifts in the position can be expected.

Who are you?

  • You have at least 5 years of experience as a nurse and have built solid clinical experience and professional judgment.
  • You want to use your clinical experience in a new way and challenge yourself within the overall health system in the Region of Southern Denmark.
  • You possess cross-sector competences.
  • You can maintain an overview when the pace is high and when several considerations must be balanced simultaneously.
  • You are curious about other professional perspectives and thrive on finding solutions across sectors.
  • You communicate clearly and respectfully – even when there are different assessments of what is the best solution.
  • You are calm, flexible and actively contribute to a good team.

We offer

  • An introduction program tailored to you and your competencies.
  • Employment in the Visitation Unit, where you also have employment in a clinical department and continue to develop and maintain your clinical competencies.
  • As a rule, half of your working time will be in the Visitation Unit and half in clinical work. The exact distribution is agreed with you and your clinical department.
  • Close collaboration with experienced colleagues from Coordination in the Emergency Department.
  • Close collaboration with colleagues at Health and Care Places, regional field emergency nurses, the rest of the hospital and the region's general practitioners.
  • Opportunity to use your clinical experience in a new context and help create coherent and citizen-centered health pathways.

Further information If you have questions about the position, you are welcome to contact the head of the Visitation Unit Maria Bentzen, mobile: 20 22 52 12 or [email protected] for further information.
