About the job

We are continuing to welcome new young people to our 4 special places at the MosaikHusene and are therefore seeking a nurse for our newly formed team. MosaikHusene is anchored in the Faxe Social Development Center – commonly referred to as FSU.

Do you want to be part of a professionally strong and interdisciplinary team that is in the process of starting up 4 truly special places for young people in a house of their own? Do you want to work with presence, attentiveness, contact, care and health professional quality? Do you thrive on sensory integration, movement and holistic support? Do you want to influence daily life? And are you passionate about working with young people with special needs – youths who are also physically challenged due to reduced functions and complex care needs? Then it might be with us you should apply.

In FSU we believe that it matters for all people to have an impact on others, and that it helps give life meaning. We believe that everyone has resources to participate in communities that are both binding and inclusive. Therefore we work to support the young people in meaningful participation in communities – regardless of challenges.

We place high value on good collaboration, both with colleagues, relatives and external partners. We have many different professional backgrounds represented, and the interdisciplinary collaboration is in the center. As a nurse you will become an important part of this collaboration and will play a central role in supporting the health care efforts around the young people.

About the job

We are looking for an engaged nurse with professional weight, overview and willingness to work closely with practice in our 4 new places, where there are particularly good frameworks for young people with multiple disabilities and extensive support needs.

The care home houses a total of 12 places distributed in 3 houses for young people under and over 18 years with accompanying respite places. Our 4 newly established places will house young people who have the same zest for life as our other youths – they simply have greater support needs in terms of care, nursing, health follow-up and daily structure due to their multiple functional impairments.

They are youths we often know already through our STU and activity programs, and we use these offerings to truly get to know the youths. The youths have a larger share of 1:1 support hours per day than the remaining residents and as a nurse you will be part of the daily staffing norm.

As a nurse with us you will be part of the daily practice and play an important role in ensuring coherence between care, education, health monitoring, documentation and collaboration with relevant treatment and collaboration partners.

Your tasks will among other things include

  • Individual care, nursing and health-related support in everyday life.
  • Health observations, assessments and follow-up on the youths’ well-being and health.
  • Medication management, including dispensing, administration, documentation and follow-up according to applicable guidelines.
  • Training and sparring with colleagues regarding the youths’ individual health care challenges.
  • Contributing to creating security and quality in care tasks, including nutrition, respiration, epilepsy, mobilization, tube feeding or other relevant health care issues depending on the youths’ needs.
  • Structured pedagogical and health-related work based on the individual’s needs.
  • Working with sensory integration and use of the sensory room as an essential part of everyday life – thorough training will be provided.
  • Support for personal development, well-being and as much independence as possible.
  • Collaboration with relatives, doctors, therapists, specialists and other relevant professionals.
  • Planning and execution of activities in both individual and group-based settings.
  • Documentation in relevant systems and contribution to health and pedagogical plans.
  • Participation in interdisciplinary meetings, reflection and professional development within the team.

We are looking for someone who

  • Is a trained nurse.
  • Wants to work with youths with autism spectrum disorders, cognitive impairments and multiple disabilities.
  • Has experience with the target group, the disability sector, social services, neuro-pedagogy or complex care needs – but not a requirement.
  • Is interested in both the health care and the pedagogical work.
  • Can work relationally, present, and respectfully with youths who may have limited communication possibilities.
  • Is patient, listening and good at building secure relationships.
  • Can work in a structured and independent way, but also thrives in interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Has good communication skills and flair for written documentation.
  • Wants to contribute to building a new department and help shape professionalism, workflows and daily practice.
  • Can maintain overview and calm – even when tasks require special attention and professional judgment.

We offer

  • A meaningful and independent position where you can make a real difference for young people with special needs.
  • Opportunity to apply your nursing expertise in a close interdisciplinary environment.
  • A professionally strong and supportive team with educators, SSA staff and other relevant professionals.
  • A workplace that highly values a good working environment.
  • Thorough training in the target group, the youths’ individual needs and relevant health care tasks.
  • Ongoing supervision, sparring and competence development.
  • Possibility to influence daily life and the development of the 4 special places.
  • Shift work, including day/evening and weekends – until 2027 at present work every 2nd weekend, but we aim for the team around the 4 places to have the same opportunity to work every 3rd and 2/4 weekend as the team in the other houses in 2027.
  • Salary according to applicable collective agreement.
