About the job

Create a meaningful everyday life – both as a nurse and an islander

Do you dream of a nursing role where you come close to citizens, take responsibility and have great colleagues backing you? And would you like to combine a meaningful working life with life on one of Denmark's most beautiful islands?

Then we may have the job for you!

In the Outreach Area in Ærø Municipality you will have the opportunity to use your full nursing expertise. You will come close to the citizens, follow their pathways and experience how your efforts make a real difference in their everyday lives. You will have responsibility and the possibility to work independently, but you are never alone.

We are an engaged nursing professional team that works closely with the home care service and the rehabilitative therapists. We bring our different professional backgrounds into play and collaborate with the citizens to create cohesive care pathways and the best possible support in everyday life.

Our tasks span a wide range. In addition to the outreach nursing tasks, we also provide nursing in our two nursing clinics and cover the nursing tasks at the island's two care centers. This provides a versatile everyday life with the opportunity to apply your expertise across different settings and citizen pathways.

We believe that the best solutions arise when we listen to the citizens' wishes, share our knowledge and find solutions together across professional groups. Therefore we prioritise professional sparring, collaboration and a work environment where we help each other and succeed together.

At the same time you become part of a professional community on an island with beautiful surroundings, presence and manageable distances.

With us you get professionalism, freedom and colleagues backing you

We offer a diverse everyday life with both acute and planned nursing tasks. You will meet citizens with chronic illnesses, complex issues and a need for palliative care. You will also have the opportunity to work with nursing in the clinics and at the care centers.

It requires professionalism, overview and the ability to see each individual person – and precisely that gives you the opportunity to develop as a nurse.

We want you to be able to apply your competencies and simultaneously develop new ones. Therefore you have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a professional resource area, for example diabetes or COPD, with relevant courses and continuing education.

When you become part of our team, you will get

  • an independent and varied everyday life with responsibility, professional challenges and the opportunity to make a noticeable difference.
  • a versatile nursing professional everyday life across citizens' homes, our two nursing clinics and the island's two care centers.
  • opportunity for professional immersion, courses and continuing education within a resource area.
  • a strong work community with engaged colleagues, high professionalism, humor and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • close collaboration with the home care service and the rehabilitative therapists regarding citizens' overall needs and pathways.
  • weekly monofield reflection time, where we discuss professional issues and develop our practice together.
  • an individual introduction and training program based on your experiences and competencies.
  • a mentor who supports you in becoming familiar with the tasks, colleagues and your new workplace.
  • a workplace in development where quality, collaboration and the citizen's needs are in focus.

A good start – with you at the center

It is important to us that you get a good and safe start, whether you come with many years of experience or are a recent graduate.

We plan your introductory and training program based on your experiences and competencies. You will be assigned a mentor who helps you settle into the tasks, provides ongoing sparring and supports you in finding your footing at the workplace.

We do not expect you to know everything from day one. Instead, we prioritise giving you the best conditions to succeed in the job and become part of the community.

We are looking for you who want to make a difference

Maybe you have many years of experience. Maybe you are a recent graduate ready to develop. The most important thing is that you want to use your professional skills, take responsibility and be part of a community where we help each other shine.

We imagine that you

  • meet citizens with respect, presence and an interest in each person’s life and wishes.
  • are comfortable with both acute, chronic and palliative nursing tasks.
  • work independently and at the same time value professional sparring and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • take responsibility, maintain an overview and are curious about professional development.
  • see the value in collaborating across professional groups and involving the citizen in the solutions.
  • actively contribute to a good working environment and know that we succeed best together.

A workplace with good connections – also to the mainland

We operate from Ærøskøbing Hospital, which is close to the harbor and the ferry connection to Svendborg. This provides a central and practical location for you if you commute from the mainland.

If you do not live on Ærø, that does not have to be a barrier. We offer flexible working hours and are happy to discuss how working hours and commuting can fit with your daily life and the ferry times.

You will have the opportunity to combine a meaningful nursing job with life on an island where nature and the beautiful surroundings are always close by.
