About the job

Would you like to use your professional expertise close to the citizen? And would you like to be involved from the start when a new department is to be formed? Then maybe you’re the one we’re looking for. We seek 4 engaged and clinically strong nurses for the new health and care beds in Varde

Here you get a unique opportunity to help shape the future citizen-centered nursing.

Who are we? As a result of the Health Reform, the regions will from 1 January 2027 take responsibility for health and care beds. At Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospitals the new clinical department Citizen-centered Health is under construction. The ambition is to create a more nearby, coherent and equal health system, where citizens experience continuity in their pathway, and where the right competencies are present at the right time.

Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospitals will therefore establish 20 beds in Varde at the former Varde Heart Center. Here nurses, doctors, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, as well as social and health care assistants will work closely together around the good citizen journey.

The physical premises are currently being renovated, so when the doors open on 1 January, it will be in entirely new surroundings. So even though you will have some seasoned colleagues, you will together have to find your way around the new locations and develop the new workflows. We are very much looking forward to it.

A job where your nursing makes a difference At the health and care beds you meet citizens who can have complex somatic and medical problems and several concurrent diseases. Your clinical assessment, professionalism and ability to see the whole person are therefore decisive.

You can read more about health and care beds in the Quality Standard from the Health Authority.

We are looking for you who…

  • have clinical experience and a desire to work with citizens from different specialties
  • have strong clinical and analytical competencies
  • can work independently and make decisions

  • can create trust and security with citizens and relatives
  • thrive with interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration
  • are curious about new ways of working
  • understand that a good working environment is created together.

You do not need to know it all. The most important thing is that you have the desire, the professionalism and the engagement to be with us.

Your tasks As a nurse you will become a central part of the citizen’s journey. You will among other things:

  • take care of holistic nursing
  • observe, assess, treat and follow up on the citizen’s condition
  • identify changes in the citizen’s health and act on them
  • work closely with doctors, social and health care assistants, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, relatives and municipal partners.
  • create coherence in the citizen’s course – and ensure a good transition for the citizen whether the citizen is on their way to or from the health care bed.
  • contribute to the development and implementation of new workflows.
