Do you want to help create joy of food for the youngest children while having great freedom in your work?

We are looking for a committed nutrition assistant, cook or other kitchen professional for our production kitchen in Månehuset.

About the position

You will be sole responsible for the kitchen in Månehuset, where you daily prepare food for 48 toddlers spread over four rooms. This means you are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the kitchen and have great freedom to plan your own workday.

You will work alone in the kitchen and must therefore thrive with independent responsibility. In return, you will become an important part of the house with close collaboration with the pedagogical staff around the children's meals and daily life. Additionally, you will become part of a kitchen community with the other kitchen staff in Børnekompasset's three departments, where there is an opportunity for professional sparring and knowledge sharing.

Working hours are planned between 06:30 and 15:00.

Your tasks will be to

• prepare breakfast, lunch and snacks with focus on taste, quality and nutrition
• plan menus and order goods
• conduct own inspections and ensure high kitchen hygiene
• wash up and perform light cleaning in the kitchen
• collaborate with the pedagogical staff on good meal experiences.

Who are we?

Børnekompasset is an integrated day institution with three sites in Valby and a production kitchen at all addresses. We see the meal as an important part of the children's well-being, learning and community. We work with a high level of organic content, seasonal ingredients, sustainability, less food waste and homemade food from scratch. We follow the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration's guidelines and Copenhagen Municipality's guidelines.

• are educated as a nutrition assistant, cook or have equivalent experience
• can prepare tasty food for many people
• work independently and in a structured way
• focus on quality, taste and good ingredients
• have a hygiene certificate and experience with self-monitoring
• can use IT for purchasing and menu planning
• want to be part of daily life in a house filled with children.

Salary and employment conditions

The position is 30 hours per week with start as soon as possible or by agreement (November 1st, December 1st 2026 or as agreed). Salary and employment terms according to the applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local wage formation. In connection with the appointment we will obtain child and criminal background checks and take references.
