About the job

In connection with the municipality's task portfolio changing when the health reform comes into force on 1 January 2027, Esbjerg Municipality will group the majority of the temporary placements into a municipal rehabilitation department with 15 24-hour beds located at the Nursing Home Hedelund. The staff will consist of nurses, social- and health care assistants, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and domestic aides.

The nursing care unit therefore seeks 2 occupational therapists. The positions are 37 hours, preferably day shifts, with work 5 out of 12 weekends. Other working hours can be requested.

Start date: 1 January 2027

The target group for the department is citizens who for a limited period require a temporary, around-the-clock stay because the citizen's situation cannot be clarified, rehabilitated or sufficiently supported in their own home.

The department will receive citizens with complex and often unresolved issues that affect their health, functional ability and opportunities to manage daily life in their own home. The programs focus on clarifying the citizen's future health and functional ability as well as needs for support, housing and interventions with a view to the greatest possible independence.

As an occupational therapist you will be responsible for the following tasks

  • Plan and qualify rehabilitation pathways based on the citizen
  • Independently identify, plan and carry out occupational therapy interventions
  • Solve complex occupational therapy tasks in collaboration with the rest of the staff
  • Offer function- or activity-based training where needed
  • Assess, test and process applications for assistive devices
  • Collaborate with internal as well as external partners

We expect that you

  • Have broad clinical experience in occupational therapy
  • Are keen to work interdisciplinary and have an appreciative and rehabilitative approach to citizens
  • Are passionate about helping develop and ensure quality in the occupational therapy area by working evidence-based and with a focus on integrating new knowledge
  • Thrive in a busy, and at times unpredictable, everyday life where you must take responsibility and be able to prioritize your tasks
  • Can meet occupational therapy documentation practices and can use common documentation tools
  • Are eager to help build and develop a new department

We look forward to hearing from you

We are seeking you who is trained as an occupational therapist, professionally well-founded and who can also see yourself applying your skills in a cross-disciplinary context in interaction with other actors.

If you have become curious and would like to hear more, you are welcome to contact manager Gitte Puggaard at tel. 29 33 52 84 or email [email protected]
