On-call substitutes for Blue Room

As our regular substitutes have taken other jobs, the age-integrated institution on Mejsevej is urgently seeking on-call substitutes for the special department Blue Room.

Our institution consists of a nursery with 31 children, a kindergarten with 60 children and the special group Blue Room, where we currently have 5 children.

Blue Room is for children with particularly serious difficulties. They are referred under §83 and therefore have substantial and lasting physical and/or psychological needs for help and special support.

In the special group we work with the children in small environments and we have the children divided into two groups. We focus on safety, development, care and nurture. Furthermore we have good opportunities to shield the children who are sensory-sensitive.

The pedagogy in the Special Group Blue Room takes its starting point in the children's potential and competences. In our institution we work with ICDP and therefore we have a particular focus on the positive relationship between the child and the adult. We know that a well-established relationship is the foundation for positive development.

We expect that you

• Have the desire and courage to work with children who have special needs for relational security, shielding environments and structures.
• Meet the child with patience, empathy and respect .
• Have a focus on the child’s resources rather than limitations .
• Are calm and clear in stressed situations.
• Ability to maintain an overview and work with affect regulation – both your own and the children’s.
• Flexible and adaptable.

You may very well

• Have an educational degree.
• Have knowledge of special education and child development (e.g., autism spectrum, ADHD, developmental delays, sensory disturbances).
• Be able to create safe, stable and predictable frameworks and relationships for the children.
• Be reflective about your own practice and open to feedback,
