Operations Development Manager

As Operations Development Manager you will have a central role close to the production management, where you create overview, momentum and measurable results across CRH Concrete's factories.

The role

The position is newly established and reports to our Operations Director. You will become part of the production leadership team and act as a close sparring partner for both the Operations Director and the production managers. The role does not have direct people management responsibility, but it provides you with broad contact surfaces and the opportunity to influence the development of the production organization.

Your primary purpose will be to strengthen performance and execution across production. You will, among other things, further develop our performance follow-up, drive improvement initiatives and coordinate the overall CAPEX process. This requires you to combine analytical strength with project management and the ability to create buy-in across the organization.

Your main tasks will be to

• act as the right-hand person for the Operations Director and contribute to tactical and strategic tasks, decision briefs, analyses and follow-up
• develop and drive our monthly Production Performance Reviews as well as further develop KPI tools and management reporting
• identify and lead cross-functional improvement initiatives within planning, efficiency, footprint, quality, safety and cost reduction
• strengthen standardization, best practice and common processes across factories and departments
• drive and further develop the CAPEX process and investment portfolio, including business cases, governance, prioritization, budget follow-up, risks and benefits realization.

We imagine that you

• have a relevant higher education in areas such as production, engineering, supply chain, economics or business development
• have experience with project management, controlling, management support or a similar cross-functional role
• preferably have worked in an industrial company or gained relevant experience from the consultancy sector
• are strong in working with data, KPIs and key figures and can translate them into clear decision bases
• communicate professionally in Danish or another Scandinavian language as well as English.

As a person you take responsibility naturally and manage to maintain an overview when tasks are complex and involve many stakeholders. You work purposefully, follow up and create momentum. At the same time you can build strong relationships and create buy-in without having formal management responsibility.

How to succeed

After the first months you will have built a good understanding of our business, production and factories. You will have established close collaboration with leaders and key employees, and you will contribute to creating an overview of performance, improvement opportunities and investments.

In the longer term you will succeed when you are the natural strategic sparring partner for production management and independently drive cross-functional initiatives from analysis to implementation. You are known for your execution power, high quality of deliverables and the ability to create buy-in across the organization.
