About the department

The Plastic Surgery Department consists of the operating theater and outpatient clinic with several rooms for operations under local anesthesia. We have a close multidisciplinary collaboration between nurses, doctors, secretaries and a photographer, which ensures cohesive patient pathways and a strong collegial community.

We treat, among others, patients with

• Breast cancer (both primary in collaboration with breast surgery, and reconstructive surgery)
• Skin cancer and melanoma
• Complicated wounds
• After massive weight loss
• Reconstructive surgery after trauma and cancer in collaboration with other specialties

Our patients are often in vulnerable and life-changing situations where nursing plays a central role.

What do we offer?

Permanent full-time position or as agreed

You will have the opportunity to work with the entire patient pathway

• Operations under general anesthesia, where the plastic surgery operating nurse ensures continuity and high professional quality
• Operations under local anesthesia, where nursing for the awake patient is in focus

You will be trained in both the outpatient clinic and the operating theater, which provides a varied daily life and strong competencies within cohesive patient pathways.

The operating department does not have on-call duties, but is part of the "joint on-call" in our ward. On-call load is 2 shifts every 6 weeks with start time of 12:00-20:00, after thorough training in the ward.

We work at a high pace to meet cancer package timelines – always with focus on quality, safety and individualized patient considerations.

Who are you?

• Very preferably an operating nurse or experience from an operating department
• Interest in instrumental nursing
• Interest in cancer nursing and surgical patient pathways
• Thrives with responsibility and independence and works well in a team

The most important is your engagement, professional curiosity and desire to make a difference for the patients.
