Then you might be our new organist at Felsted Church. We are looking for a committed organist who wants to create musical experiences that bring people together and give life to both services, church ceremonies and new musical activities in the parish.

The position is available for appointment on 1 December 2026 or by arrangement and constitutes 15 hours per week on average .

As organist you will have great influence on the development of the church’s musical life. The parish council is well-functioning and development-oriented and actively wishes to support new initiatives and musical activities. We hope, together with you, to:

• Restart and develop a children's choir
• Create new musical traditions and events
• Strengthen communal singing and musical communities
• Contribute to activities around our local town festival “Felsted Week” and other local events
• Develop the church’s musical profile for the future

The church has a well-tuned Marcussen & Søn pipe organ from 1878 with 11 stops. Music plays an important role in the parish, and you will have a strong influence on the future musical life of the parish.

Your tasksYou will, among other things, be responsible for

• Playing for services and church ceremonies
• Restarting and leading a children’s choir
• Planning and participating in singing evenings and musical events
• Contributing to the development of the church’s musical life
• Collaborating with the priest, staff, parish council and the local community

About the parishFelsted Parish has about 1,800 members of the Church of Denmark and is an active part of the local community. We are a small staff team with strong camaraderie and a desire to be a church that is close to people in all stages of life.

Practical informationYou will be employed by Felsted Parish Council , Kirkevej 17, Felsted, 6200 Aabenraa.

There is an obligation to undertake service by other employing authorities in the diocese in accordance with the agreements the parish council has or will enter into.

Salary and terms of employmentThe position can be filled by applicants with various church music education or those without formal education.

Church Musician (Danish Church Musicians Association)

Employment is governed by the Common Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and CO10 as well as the collective agreement for church musicians.

• The annual salary is agreed within the range of DKK 333,747.51 – DKK 475,590.08 (in current currency).
• The position is covered by a standby obligation. The standby allowance is DKK 27,641.26 annually.
• In addition, an OK24 allowance of DKK 1,082.28 annually is provided.
• Pension contribution is 18.4% and is paid to CO10 Pension in PFA.

Salary is determined by negotiation between the parish council and the Danish Church Musicians Association.

Organist with the qualification 'Church Musician with Organ and Choir Conducting' (formerly PO-organist)

Employment is governed by the agreement between the Ministry of City, Rural and Church Affairs and CO10.

The salary follows the basic pay system.

• Basic grade 1: DKK 350,435.40
• Basic grade 2: DKK 368,188.95

Placement is according to seniority.

The position is covered by a standby obligation. The standby allowance is DKK 29,665.65 annually when serving at one church.

After local negotiation, qualification and function allowances can be agreed. Pension contribution is 18.4% and is paid to CO10 Pension in PFA.

Salary is set after negotiation between the parish council and the Organists’ Association.

DOKS organist

Organists with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in church music are hired under the academic agreement and the protocol for DOKS organists.

• Bachelor-educated: gross salary between DKK 332,306.24 and DKK 417,156.38 depending on seniority.
• Master-educated: gross salary between DKK 363,168.71 and DKK 442,528.79 depending on seniority.

The position is covered by a standby obligation. The standby allowance is between DKK 46,726.59 and DKK 72,572.63 depending on seniority.

After local negotiation, qualification and function allowances can be agreed. Pension contributions amount to 18.07% of the base salary and 12.5% of the standby allowance. Pension contributions are paid to PFA Pension.

Salary is set after negotiation between the parish council and DOKS.

Civil servant organists

Current civil servant organists have the right to keep their civil servant status upon appointment with direct transition. In that case, the classification of the position is performed.

Note

The stated salaries and allowances apply to a full-time position. Salary, OK allowances and any standby allowances are calculated pro rata according to the appointment fraction of the position.
