About the job

Are you an experienced senior dentist looking for new challenges, or a professionally strong dentist with ambitions to take the next step into management?

In Nyborg Municipal Dental Care you will have the opportunity to lead a well-run dental service with engaged staff, a clear professional profile and brand new clinic facilities.

We are seeking a senior dentist who is passionate about professional development, prevention and good leadership. We place great emphasis on your professional and personal competencies, your leadership potential and your ability to create followership – whether you already have leadership experience or want to develop yourself as a leader.

With us you will have the opportunity to shape the dental service's development in close collaboration with staff and the management in Health and Elderly Care.

About the position

As a senior dentist you will have the overall professional responsibility for the dental service and a central role in the continued development of quality, culture and organization.

You will help set the direction for a dental service where professionalism, prevention, collaboration and staff well-being go hand in hand.

You will become part of a management team together with the clinic coordinator and work closely with the area manager for Health. Together you set the direction, ensure coherence in operations and support staff well-being and development.

We place emphasis on an open and trusting leadership culture, where there is room for professional sparring, new ideas and joint solutions. You do not need to have been a leader before. What matters to us is that you have the right professional and personal qualifications and the desire to take responsibility for both staff and the dental service's development.

If you already have solid leadership experience, you will have the opportunity to actively bring it into play. If the leadership role is new to you, we will support your development through close leadership coaching, a thorough introduction to the role and the possibility of relevant leadership education.

We also want you to maintain a close connection to clinical daily life. Therefore you as senior dentist will continue to work in the clinic a few days a week, so you can combine professional leadership with patient treatment. The concrete division between leadership and clinical work will be agreed based on your competencies and the dental service's needs.

A modern dental service with exciting development opportunities

Nyborg Municipal Dental Care moved into new, modern facilities in the spring of 2026.

The new dental clinic contains 10 treatment rooms, of which two are specially equipped for citizens with special needs. The clinic also has installations and equipment for anesthesia treatments.

The new premises provide good opportunities to develop our treatment offerings and strengthen professional collaboration across staff groups.

An important development task will be to ensure the continued development and integration of special dental care, so that we create a coherent high-quality service for citizens with special needs.

You will also play a central role in the collaboration with the surrounding municipalities, including in the framework of the Fun Territorial Regulation Center Fyn, which handles orthodontic treatment for children and youths in Nyborg Municipality.

We do not expect you to have all the solutions from the start. We want a leader who is curious, can translate professional ambitions into practice and is able to develop solutions in collaboration with staff and other partners.

We particularly emphasize that you

  • Are a qualified dentist with a strong professional profile and interest in prevention, non-operative treatment and quality development.
  • Want to lead and develop people and can create trust, engagement and followership.
  • See the value in interdisciplinary collaboration and a high degree of delegation.
  • Are a visible, present and clear leader who can create direction and good relationships.
  • Are curious, development-oriented and have the courage to challenge habits and test new solutions.
  • Have a sense of both daily operations and the dental service's long-term development.
  • Can collaborate and communicate well with staff, citizens and external partners.

You may be an experienced senior dentist or a skilled dentist with the drive and potential to develop yourself as a leader.

We offer

  • A well-run dental service with a clear professional profile and high ambitions.
  • A newly built dental clinic with modern treatment facilities and good physical frameworks.
  • Engaged and competent staff with a high degree of professional independence and responsibility.
  • An exciting leadership position with the opportunity to shape the dental service's development.
  • Close leadership collaboration and ongoing sparring with the area manager for Health and the clinic coordinator.
  • An introduction to the leadership role tailored to your experiences and competencies.
  • Opportunity for relevant leadership education and development of leadership competence.
  • Opportunity to combine leadership with clinical work.
  • A workplace where we value job satisfaction, collaboration and professional development.
  • An organization that welcomes new ideas and supports good ideas.

About us

We are a modern municipal dental service with a strong focus on prevention and health promotion.

We work according to iTOP principles and with a non-operative approach, where the goal is to strengthen patients' own abilities and prevent treatment needs rather than simply repairing damage.

Delegation is a central part of our professional and organizational framework. We believe that high quality is created through collaboration and by actively engaging all professional groups' competences.

Our dental clinic assistants therefore play an active and important role in patient treatment, and we prioritize close collaboration between dentists, dental hygienists and dental clinic assistants.

We are a dedicated team of 22 staff with diverse professional backgrounds and competences.

We treat about 8,000 children and youths and around 225 citizens in the elderly dental care program. In addition, there are citizens in special dental care.

You will become part of a workplace with short decision paths and good opportunities to be close to both staff, patients and day-to-day practice.

Further information

We know that applying for a leadership position is a big decision, and we would very much like to tell you more about both the opportunities and the expectations.

You are therefore welcome to contact Anders Fournaise, (area manager for Health) at tel.: 2125 5306 / email: [email protected] , for an informal conversation. You are also very welcome to visit the clinic, meet us and experience the new facilities before deciding whether to apply.

We look forward to hearing from you – whether you are an experienced leader already, or you see this position as your next professional and managerial step.
