About the job

One child. Two adults. A close partnership. Are you our next colleague?

At SanseBo we are looking for an educator for our 2:1 offering. Here you will work together with a colleague to care for a lovely 13-year-old with autism spectrum disorder. Here there is time and expertise to do things properly, and no one is left alone with the task.

About the job

Together with your partner you create calm, security and development in the child\'s daily life. The child does not communicate with spoken language, so a large part of the job is to understand and meet the child\'s expressions. You will among other things:

  • read and interpret the child\'s body language, sounds, facial expressions and behavior as communication
  • work with KRAP and social skills training
  • work with alternative and augmented communication e.g. pictograms, picture support and sign-to-speech
  • work with visual structure and clear communication in everyday life
  • plan the day according to the child\'s needs and resources
  • work with prevention and handling of challenging behavior and understand what the child is trying to communicate behind it
  • collaborate closely with parents, school and PPR
  • document and evaluate the interventions so they are continuously adjusted

About you

You are a trained educator and/or have experience from the autism field. If you are a recent graduate or come from another field but are passionate about the target group, you are also welcome to apply.

You are

  • curious about and patient with a child who expresses themselves without words, and good at noticing small signals
  • glad for overnight shifts and for being close to the child\'s entire daily life
  • someone who sees hygiene, personal care and cleaning as caring pedagogical work
  • physically and mentally robust and comfortable working in situations with physical agitation or de-escalation
  • calm and present, even when the day does not go as planned
  • structured, but flexible enough to change the plan when the child needs it
  • a team player who thrives on sparring and honest feedback

Familiarity with KRAP, sign-to-speech and social skills training is a plus, but curiosity and a desire to learn weigh just as heavily.

We offer

  • a meaningful job in a close-knit collegial community
  • ongoing professional sparring and supervision
  • thorough introduction to the child, the target group and our methods
  • relevant courses, competence development and possibly further education

Practical

  • Working hours: 37 hours/week - split between 1 night shift and 1 evening shift.
  • Start date: 01.01.27
  • Workplace: Langerimsvej 40, 9560 Hadsund
