Who are we?

Nørholm in Herning is a highly specialized accommodation under the Special Area Developmental Disabilities (SUA) in the Central Denmark Region.

Nørholm consists of five departments with a total of 35 places (§105, §107 and §108) as well as an internal day care facility (§103 and §104). We are a large workplace with over 100 employees.

We work with adults with developmental disabilities and complex support needs. Many of our residents live with combinations of cognitive impairments, mental health challenges, emotional vulnerability and behavioral complexity.

Therefore we are looking for pedagogues who are curious about the target group and motivated to support citizens in living a life with meaning, mastery and everyday opportunities.

Our professional foundation

At Nørholm we work from a fundamental understanding that the citizen is the expert in their own life. We therefore place great emphasis on the citizen’s self- and co-determination and on involving the individual’s wishes, needs and dreams in the pedagogical effort.

As a pedagogue at Nørholm you will, among other things, work with

• Creating professional and trusting relationships with the citizens.
• Meeting the citizens with an appreciative and resource-focused approach based on KRAP (Cognitive, Resource-Oriented and Affirming Practice).
• Working preventively with risk assessments using Brôset.
• Working with relational coordination and TOK
• Working systematically with the 12 health-related problem areas.

Our pedagogical foundation is built on relationship- and development psychology. We work, among other things, with KRAP, neuroaffective development psychology, LA2u, systemic thinking and VUM (Adult Diagnostic Method).

Experience from the social or special care field is an advantage, but the most important is your approach, motivation and desire to learn and develop.

• A safe and thorough introduction: You will receive an onboarding process with an assigned mentor who welcomes you on your first day of work and acts as a sparring partner in the first six months.
• A specialized training program: SUA’s professional pilot education, which provides you with professional tools for working in a highly specialized practice.
• Competence development in LA2u: You will become part of the work to implement LA2u as a common professional approach.
• A broad network of collaboration: We collaborate among others with psychiatry, case workers, the police, the Chief Public Prosecutor and a range of other partners.
• A strong collegial community: We prioritize a good working environment and a strong VI culture, where we help each other across departments and tasks.

Practical information

The positions are 37 hours per week with rotating day and evening shifts and work every 2nd or 3rd weekend.

Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between Danish Regions and the relevant professional organization. The positions are covered by the rules for New Pay, therefore additional pay for qualifications can be negotiated. Employer-paid pension is included.
