About the job

Are you keen to challenge and develop your professional skills at a highly specialized residential care facility within a strong professional community?

We are in an exciting phase of development and are therefore looking for you who are educated as either a social educator (pædagog), teacher, or social worker and who have 2 years of relevant pedagogical experience within the field of special needs.

Who are we at Skovbo?

We are a specialized offering for adult citizens with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders who need a structured and recognizable daily life. We base our approach on the individual citizen's needs, pace, and interests and prioritize time and presence so that we can build relationships that make a difference.

Our pedagogical approach is built on structure and predictability, and we work with Gentle Teaching Nordic, Low Arousal, and neuro-pedagogy. In addition, we use visual supports and sensory integration to create clear and meaningful everyday life.

We place emphasis on professional development and methodological curiosity. Collegial sparring and supervision across professional groups are a fixed part of everyday life, providing a strong professional environment where we continuously develop our practice.

Natural settings that promote calm and pedagogical opportunities

We are located in an area with forest and fjord nearby. Our outdoor areas provide favorable conditions for calm, activity and sensory experiences. Nature is actively used in our pedagogy for walks and bike rides, breaks, or as a quiet place to retreat to. Our sensory garden provides opportunities to work with the senses through scents, sounds and textures in an approachable outdoor space.

Your tasks

As an employee with us you will become a central part of the everyday life around the citizens. The tasks cover a wide range and include, among other things:

  • Relationship work, conversations and pedagogical interventions
  • Support for personal hygiene, shopping, structure and daily routines
  • Picture communication, sign language and other alternative communication forms
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration in teams around the individual citizen
  • Work with screenings, descriptions and pedagogical assessments
  • Documentation in relation to municipal goals and orders

We expect that you

  • Want and can collaborate with several professional groups on equal footing
  • Can apply your professional skills – both verbally and in writing
  • Are passionate about collaboration with relatives, guardians and municipalities
  • Work relationally and with a Gentle Teaching perspective
  • Actively contribute to a professionally strong, honest and open work environment
  • Can work methodically with a structure tailored to the individual citizen
  • See possibilities rather than limitations and be open to change
  • Can work day, evening, every other weekend and holidays

We offer

  • A meaningful everyday life with close contact to the citizens and a clear effect of your contribution
  • A strong interdisciplinary environment
  • Thorough introduction and ongoing professional sparring and competence development
  • A culture focused on safety, professionalism, reflection and collegial community
  • High professional standards, regular staff meetings, theme days and supervision
  • Opportunities for courses as well as further and continuing education

Can you see yourself in the above?

Then send your application today – or call to arrange a visit. We always have coffee on the pot.

Department head Emir Custovic can be contacted at tel.: 20 76 30 79 or email: [email protected]
