Are you passionate about pedagogy, strong children's communities, and creating a daily life where children have the opportunity to be curious, play, learn, and develop? Then we would love to hear from you. We are seeking a pedagogical assistant for 37 hours per week for Firkløverens Børnehus. The position is currently in our kindergarten with children aged 3-5 years.

Who are we?

Firkløverens Børnehus is a large, bright and integrated kindergarden with about 100 children aged 0-6 years. We are located in Gørløse just outside Hillerød, close to nature, which becomes a natural part of the children’s everyday life. It can be a trip out to find small animals, investigate what lies under a tree trunk, or follow the changes of the seasons together with the children. We have good physical facilities and a lovely playground that invites to play, movement, and curiosity.

With us, we place a high value on children’s well-being, development, learning, and formation. We are focused on seeing the world from the child’s perspective and on creating participation opportunities so that all children feel like valuable members of the community. With us, a good pedagogical activity does not always have to be planned in advance. If the children find a snail on the playground, it can become the start of several days of investigations, conversations, drawings, and new questions. We practice following the children’s curiosity and building on it.

In our pedagogical work, we focus among other things on inclusive communities, science – didactics, and dialogic reading. We work neuroaffectively inspired by psychologist Susan Hart and are curious about what lies behind a child’s actions and behavior. When a child is having difficulties, we are concerned with asking: What is the child trying to tell us? Instead of only looking at the behavior, we are curious about the underlying need and how we as adults can help the child return to well-being and belonging.

We work with the strengthened pedagogical curriculum as a natural part of everyday life and continually develop our pedagogical practice together. We do not only work with individual children, but are focused on how we create communities where all children have the opportunity to belong, contribute, and feel meaningful.

Firkløverens Børnehus is part of an area with 11 day-care services in the Area Store Dyrehave in Hillerød Municipality.

Who do we hope you are?

We are looking for a colleague who primarily wants to be with the children – a Pedagogical Assistant who is present, curious, and able to see both the individual child and the community.

We talk about our pedagogy – even when something is difficult. If a child or a group of children asks us to do something differently, it is not something you have to handle alone. We are curious together and use each other to find new courses of action.

We hold staff meetings about once a month. In addition, we organize 3-4 times a year events for the parents, which take place outside normal working hours.
