Pedagogue for maternity leave cover in the Center Department at Vester Mariendal School starting 18 January 2027

The center department's middle level at Vester Mariendal School has a full-time maternity leave replacement position as an educator, with an expected start in week 3 2027 and approximately 8 months.

We are looking for a skilled, experienced and well-founded educator who

• Can create positive and close relationships with children with special needs.
• Has the ability to work with children with extensive learning difficulties.
• Can provide good, relevant instruction adapted to the target group in the class.
• Knows how to work with sensomotor activities.
• Knowledge of AAC is a great strength (augmented and alternative communication), including sign language to speech and the boardmaker system.
• Is good at planning, implementing and evaluating educational action plans
• Can act clearly and convincingly in a framework characterized by pupil-adapted structure and predictability.
• Active engagement in a neuro-pedagogical further education program with accompanying professional sparring
• Can work in interdisciplinary teams and contribute to an open and professional dialogue with partners, including parents
• Can perform care and hygiene tasks professionally.
• You will be introduced to transfers
• You will be approximately 50% in the class and 50% in DUS time.

Vester Mariendal School's center department houses 110 students distributed across 4 divisions, as well as 70 colleagues. The students are characterized by having extensive disabilities and have reduced cognitive, linguistic, motor, and social skills. Several students also have physical handicaps. The student group has very varied and complex challenges and needs. There is a need for differentiated and specially tailored teaching at the individual, group, and class level.

Everyday life is characterized by creating good relationships, where the adult is the caring driving force who can be guiding, instructive and directive. This creates a safe environment in which students can develop within a clear structure.

In daily practice, we start from a resource- and relationship-oriented approach focusing on how each student is best supported and develops, and work to set realistic goals for the student's learning, well-being and development. We work with special pedagogical student plans. These are evaluated several times a year with the involvement of the parents.

The working hours are distributed between school and DUS from 7:30 to 16:30. There is naturally also work time on some school-free days in DUS.

There are occasional meetings until 19:00
