About the job

We are seeking a physiotherapist in our orthopedic surgical team , so if you have an interest in the specialty, a desire to make a difference for patients and to be part of the hospital of the future, then the opportunity is here with us.

The position is a permanent appointment from December 1, 2026, at 37 hours per week.

We see that you

  • thrive in a daily life where tasks and priorities can change, and where we help each other find the best solutions
  • can work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues and partners across disciplines
  • communicate clearly and want to contribute constructively to the joint task resolution
  • work professionally reflected, clinically reasoned and will apply new knowledge in your clinical practice
  • focus on the individual patient, a holistic approach and have an eye for the overall patient journey
  • are curious about development and eager to contribute to strengthening physiotherapeutic practice
  • meet colleagues and patients with openness, engagement and an interest in learning and sparring

Your tasks

You will primarily manage short, structured and documented patient pathways focusing on assessing the patient’s functional capacity and need for retraining and rehabilitation.

Together with the patient you plan the further course through examination, assessment, instruction, provision of relevant aids and guidance in exercises. The goal is to support the patient’s active and autonomous participation during hospitalization, and to create good transitions to discharge as well as further retraining and rehabilitation in the municipality.

The position includes weekend shifts after the introductory period. In principle there is a shift about every 8th weekend and some holidays. During shifts we cover the whole hospital, and therefore the onboarding process also includes an introduction to other specialties than the one you are employed in.

We place great emphasis on you feeling well prepared for the tasks. Therefore you will receive a thorough onboarding process, a mentor and time for learning, so you can feel secure in the role.

Who are we?

In Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy, we have a strong focus on the active patient pathway at the acute hospital. We work purposefully to develop our practice and support patients’ activity and participation during their stay. The department also has a clinical development unit, which contributes to professional development and implementation of new knowledge.

We work closely with the hospital’s other departments and are committed to creating cohesive and high-quality patient pathways. At the same time we safeguard a work environment characterized by professionalism, engagement, openness, feedback and good humor.

On the campus in Køge we have 10 occupational therapists, 22 physiotherapists, 1 senior therapist, 1 secretary and 1 equipment officer colleague. In addition we have a clinical instructor and have attached physiotherapy students from Professionshøjskolen Absalon, as well as development therapists linked to the department.

You will be employed at Zealand University Hospital, which includes the hospitals in Køge, Roskilde and Nykøbing Falster. In January 2028, our colleagues from Roskilde will move to the new university hospital in Køge, where we will continue to develop the future patient pathways together.

Does that sound like something for you?

-then we hope you will apply for the position, and we look forward to hearing from you.

If you have questions or would like to hear more about the job, you are very welcome to contact Lilian Christensen , senior therapist for occupational therapists and physiotherapists, at phone 23 32 62 10 or email [email protected] .
