About the job

Would you like to help strengthen rehabilitation, prevention and coherent patient/citizen pathways on Samsø?

We are looking for an engaged physiotherapist or occupational therapist for an exciting and versatile position at Samsø Health and Acute Care House from December 1, 2026. The position is newly created, and you will play a central role in rehabilitation work across health and care wards, patient-centered prevention, and collaboration between hospital, municipality and general practice.

Your tasks

Health and care wards (SOP)

You will become part of the interdisciplinary team around the citizens and will among other things work with functional capacity assessment, training, rehabilitation plans, aids and guidance for the other staff.

We want the rehabilitative approach to become a natural part of daily life on the wards – and here you will have an important professional role.

Patient-centered prevention

You will work with for example clarifying conversations, training, physical activity, education and self-management of illness. The citizen’s own goals, resources and daily life are the starting point for the effort.

Coherent rehabilitation pathways

You will help to qualify rehabilitation plans from the emergency department and contribute to good transitions between hospital and municipality. You will also become part of a professional community across sectors.

You will have the opportunity to develop

The position is not yet defined. We are in the process of developing the therapeutic function, and you will therefore have the opportunity to shape the professional content of tasks, workflows and ways of collaborating.

We would like to raise the level of the rehabilitative work, both on the SOP wards and across the Health and Acute House.

We are looking for you who

  • are educated as a physiotherapist or an occupational therapist
  • have an interest in rehabilitation, prevention and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • can work independently while actively integrating into a team
  • can translate your professional knowledge into practice together with other professional groups
  • are eager to develop and think innovatively
  • thrive in a daily life where the tasks vary widely.

Experience from both municipality and hospital is an advantage, but not a requirement.

We offer

  • a newly created and versatile position
  • great opportunity to influence the content and development of the position
  • close interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration
  • opportunity to work with rehabilitation, prevention, training and development
  • a professional environment with short decision paths and room for new ideas.

If you would like to help create a strong and coherent therapeutic effort on Samsø, we would love to hear from you.

Life on Samsø – or both places

You do not need to live on Samsø to work with us. If you live on the mainland, we offer a lodging during your work periods. If you wish to move to Samsø, we are happy to help introduce you to the island’s many opportunities – for you and your family.

The position is, in principle, full-time with employment by agreement.

Application deadline is October 23, 2026.
