As a postdoc, you will be part of a growing and dynamic research environment at the newly established Center for Implementation Science and the Lung Medical Research Unit at Aalborg University Hospital.

Here you will have the opportunity to contribute to research focusing on community involvement and implementation science within chronic lung diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), as well as environment and health. We are seeking a motivated and curious researcher who wishes to work across disciplines, build meaningful partnerships, and contribute to research that starts from the needs and priorities of local communities.

Your duties

As a postdoc you will have the opportunity to develop your research profile while contributing to practice-oriented research with clear societal relevance. Your primary duties will include:

  • Development and evaluation of innovative interventions: Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of community-based interventions concerning chronic lung diseases and related challenges in the areas of environment and health, with a basis in community involvement and implementation science.
  • Further development of implementation science: Apply and further develop methodological approaches to investigate how evidence-based interventions can be effectively translated, adapted, implemented and sustained in practice.
  • Involvement of local communities and stakeholders: Collaborate with citizens, patients, health professionals, researchers and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that the research reflects their experiences as well as local priorities and practical needs.
  • Conducting high-quality research: Contribute to hypothesis development, literature reviews, research design, development of questionnaires, data collection and handling, data quality assurance, and qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods analyses.
  • Translating research results into practice: Disseminate research results through peer-reviewed publications, scientific presentations, dialogue with stakeholders and accessible reports targeted at local communities.
  • Development of future research opportunities: Contribute to grant and research applications that support the development of innovative implementation science with involvement of local communities.
  • Development of your research career: Participate in professional development, multidisciplinary collaboration and activities that strengthen your expertise in implementation science, community-involved research and knowledge translation.

Qualifications

You must have a PhD or equivalent in medical science, epidemiology, public health, implementation science, social sciences or a related field. To be considered for the position, you must have obtained your PhD within the last five years.

We emphasize that you have

  • Good spoken and written Danish language skills as well as strong collaborative and communication abilities.
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, including experience with relevant implementation projects and analysis methods.
  • Experience with mixed methods research as well as statistical and qualitative analysis software.
  • Experience with digital research tools and platforms such as online questionnaires, REDCap and NVivo.
  • Experience with both scientific and public science communication, for example via podcasts or social media.
  • Strong organizational abilities and experience with project management and problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently while actively contributing to a multidisciplinary research environment.
  • A strong commitment to improving health and well-being in local communities through thorough and inclusive research with societal relevance.

We would like you to have experience with or special interest in one or several of the following areas:

  • Research involving local communities, including community-based or participatory research.
  • Implementation science, dissemination and implementation of research as well as knowledge translation.
  • Mixed methods research combining qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Theories, models and frameworks within implementation science.
