About the job
Do you want to help develop an agency with an important societal task? Are you good at creating an overview, driving processes forward and getting different professional disciplines to work in the same direction? Then you may be our new colleague in the Return Home Agency (Hjemrejsestyrelsen).
Your new everyday
The Return Home Agency works with return and removal of foreigners who do not have valid residence in Denmark, as well as with advice and support for voluntary return and repatriation. The agency also provides secretariat support to the Immigration Appeal Board and the Refugee Appeals Board, and the National ID Center is organizationally placed within the agency.
You will become part of the Management Secretariat, which among other things supports the executive management and the organization with daily operations as well as cross-cutting development, coordination and implementation. We work to create coherence across the agency, and to ensure that decisions, new requirements, and good ideas are translated into solutions that work in practice.
You will have a broad contact surface and will collaborate with managers and employees throughout the Return Home Agency. You will also have contact with the Ministry of Immigration and Integration's department, the other agencies within the ministerial area and relevant external partners.
We are an agency where task solving and competencies are in focus. We emphasize professional sparring and close collaboration across the organization. If you are new to the immigration area, we will provide a thorough introduction to both the organization and the subject area.
Your tasks
You will be responsible for planning and driving cross-cutting development and implementation projects from the initial clarification to the point where the solution is implemented and anchored in the organization.
The tasks can vary in size and content and may include developing and standardizing workflows, implementing new requirements, strengthening governance information, or supporting organizational changes.
You will, among other things, help to
- plan, lead and follow up on cross-cutting projects and development programs
- map and analyze workflows and identify possibilities for simplification and improvement
- design and facilitate workshops, meetings and inclusive processes
- translate strategic decisions, new requirements and organizational needs into concrete processes, deliverables and action plans
- ensure progress, quality, risk management and clear follow-up to project owners and steering groups
- coordinate with stakeholders across disciplines, organizational units and authorities
- prepare decision briefs, status materials, process descriptions and management information
- contribute to developing common methods and tools for the agency's project and process work.
The portfolio of tasks develops continuously, and you should therefore be comfortable with priorities changing and new tasks arising along the way. You will also have good opportunities to influence the task solving yourself and to bring your expertise into play.
About you
You have a relevant academic education and preferably a couple of years of experience with project management, process development, implementation or organizational development. Your experience may come from a public authority, a consulting company or a larger private organization. The most important is that you can create structure and momentum in complex processes and bring people along when new solutions are to be developed and anchored.
We also place emphasis on that you
- work in a structured and independent manner and maintain an overview when several tasks run simultaneously
- are analytical and can translate complex issues into simple and usable solutions
- are a confident process leader who can facilitate dialogue and create a common direction
- collaborate well and build trusting relationships across disciplines and the organization
- communicate clearly and precisely in Danish – both spoken and written
- have a sense of people, processes, governance and implementation
- are curious, proactive and solution-oriented.
It is an advantage if you have experience with project management, benefits realization, process mapping or change management, but it is not a requirement. Knowledge of a politically led organization or state administration is also advantageous.
What you get with us
You get a meaningful position where your work contributes to developing the Return Home Agency's task solving. In the Management Secretariat we have a strong sense of community, help each other with tasks and maintain an informal tone.
You will have opportunities for professional development through new tasks, responsibility and relevant courses. We offer flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work when tasks permit.
