Mayekawa Nordic A/S has again asked us to find the right person for a central role in the company. They are now seeking a production-technical specialist who thrives at the intersection of development, production and people. You could say they are looking for someone who can take a product from the drawing board and prepare it to be built. Over and over again.
The company is based in Middelfart and acts as the Nordic development center for the Japanese group Mayekawa. The company develops industrial cooling systems and heat pumps and is especially known for the mCHILLER series, which uses the natural refrigerant ammonia and thereby achieves high energy efficiency and sustainability.
Role
Mayekawa Nordic is creating a new Industrialization department at the Middelfart office, and with it a new position as a production-technical specialist. The department's task is to ensure that the products the development department designs can actually be produced. And it will be you who takes responsibility for building the department from the ground up together with a production-technical supporter.
The position has no managerial responsibility, but you will be responsible for the technical direction and for ensuring that tasks are completed and operations run smoothly, while you yourself take on a large part of the professional work. By your side you will have a production-technical supporter, who is also being hired now, and with whom you will work closely.
Together with the head of development, whom you report to, you will determine what the department must be capable of, and you will build the workflows for it. You will sit at the table when development and production must agree on how things can be done better, and although this sometimes means long meetings, that is also where you make the biggest difference.
Mayekawa has a production unit in Serbia, with which you will have a lot of contact, and you should therefore expect that the position entails up to 50 travel days per year.
Responsibilities
In collaboration with Mayekawa Nordic's management you will build the department from the ground up and define, develop and set the framework for how it will work. Your areas of responsibility will:
- Building the department's workflows and processes
- That the department ensures thorough maturation of the products, so they can safely go from development to production
- Contact with the three partners: development in Denmark, parent company in Japan, and production in Serbia
- Sourcing agreements in collaboration with strategic procurement
Areas of work
A large part of your time will be spent on concrete technical tasks
- CAD automation across product families and variants
- Working with product variants and assessing what a change affects
- Design-for-assembly improvements
- Integration of quality assurance into the development processes
- Development of systems for generating customer documentation packages
- Integration of new product features into existing product lines
Professional competencies
We care more about what you have done than what is on your diploma. You can be a PTA, production technologist, marine engineer, mechanical technician, technical designer or engineer. You can also be tradesperson with further education and many years close to production. The crucial thing is that you have been at the intersection of development and production before and know where things typically go wrong in practice.
You will be the first in the department, so you must be able to contribute from day one. Therefore you must have solid experience with:
- Inventor and Vault, preferably also automation and setup of workflows
- Mechanical design and assembly processes
- Production technology
- ERP and PDM systems
If you have knowledge of welding, sheet metal processing, pipes and fittings, that is an advantage.
You speak and write English at a level where you can explain technical details and negotiate solutions with colleagues in Japan and Serbia.
Who you are
You take responsibility and do not wait to be asked, and you are good at seeking out the knowledge needed to solve a task. You are good at building and maintaining relationships, and you are not afraid to take the lead when necessary, but also understand giving space to others when it is their turn to lead.
You have the desire and drive to build systems, improve them and keep them running. You finish tasks rather than jumping to the next, and you easily navigate an organization that is not yet structured. Because that is exactly what you and your colleague will do: create the structure that is not there yet.
It would be an advantage if you have interest/experience in working in an international environment, with relationships and contacts beyond the country's borders.
Mayekawa Nordic offers
- An independent job with a lot of freedom to organize the work yourself
- Good opportunities to develop professionally
- Colleagues with an informal tone and a good atmosphere
- A good compensation package with pension and health insurance
- Flexible working hours that fit your travel activities
- Option for remote work.
Your primary workplace is at the office in Middelfart.
Is this you who will build the department?
Are you the one who makes things work when the drawing has to become a real product? Can you see yourself sharing responsibility in building something that does not exist yet, while having your hands in the technical work along the way? Do you want to make your mark on a department from day one, without having to be a people manager? Then we would love to hear from you. Whether you have an engineering title or have learned the trade on the shop floor.
Practical terms
The optimal start date is November 1, 2026, but the right candidate matters more than the date, so we are flexible. Therefore there is no fixed application deadline.
We hold interviews on an ongoing basis and will close the process when we have found the right person.
If you want to join, just send your application.

About Mayekawa
Mayekawa is a family-owned company, founded by Kisaku Maekawa in 1924. Since then it has grown to be one of the world leaders in industrial cooling with more than 4,500 employees distributed around the world.
The first stamp compressor came in 1934. Since then Mayekawa has continued with the MYCOM compressor technology, and today MYCOM stands as the strongest name in the industry.
Natural refrigerants have been the focus from the beginning, because environmental concerns weigh heavily at Mayekawa. Industrial cooling is still the core business, but the company also works with equipment for meat processing and with robotics.
About Mayekawa Nordic A/S
Mayekawa Nordic A/S is the development center for standard chillers and heat pumps under Mayekawa Europe. It is here that the mCHILLER Series is developed. In 2021, the mCHILLER FUGU, a water-cooled ammonia chiller, arrived, and in October 2022 followed the mCHILLER TAKA, which is air-cooled.
The organization is flat. People ask when in doubt, and you help both your team and your leader to make things succeed.
As a new colleague you join a company that is at the forefront of the industry and that looks at the whole person. There is balance between work and private life.
Mayekawa prioritizes the work environment and supports it with social activities and an informal and honest tone, where there is room for fun and to be who you are among colleagues who stay. Those values should align with your own.
