Project Manager for Earthworks and Construction Projects

Do you have solid experience with project management and do you thrive on keeping track of both finances, progress and people? Perhaps you already have experience with earthworks and civil engineering and would like to bring that into play on both large and small projects, primarily in Jutland.

As a project manager at Gustav H. Christensen you will have an important role in the execution of projects from the initial contact with the customer to the final handover. You will have independent responsibility for your projects and become the one who creates an overview, ensures progress and gets customers, employees, suppliers and partners to work well together.

Your eyes for both the whole and the details should help ensure that the projects are completed safely – on time, within budget and with quality.

Your tasks

• Coordination of projects from calculation and bidding to final delivery
• Leadership of the project team with a focus on collaboration, progress and development of employees' competencies
• Contract negotiations with subcontractors as well as ongoing planning and management of subcontractors
• Handling of project finances, budgets and processing of tender material
• Planning of resources and activities, including procurement and follow-up on deliveries
• Active work with safety and quality management as an integrated part of the project's operations
• Participation in construction meetings, where you contribute with technical input and help find technical solutions
• Preparation of risk assessments and proactive handling of the challenges that arise along the way
• Documentation and follow-up on the projects via IT systems

Your workplace will, as a starting point, be at the office in Snejbjerg, but several days a week you will also have your workspace at the construction sites.

Who are you?

We are looking for an experienced project manager who is used to independently driving projects and taking responsibility for both planning, finances, coordination and progress.

You probably have a construction-related or engineering education such as construction technician, diploma engineer or another relevant education. If you also have experience with earthworks, drainage or civil engineering, that would be a clear advantage. Otherwise you come with solid project management experience, technical understanding and the desire to delve into the company’s field.

As a person you work in a structured way and manage to keep an overview – even when many activities and people are involved. You follow up, make the necessary decisions and find solutions to the challenges that arise along the way.

You thrive on dialogue and collaboration around the projects and are able to build good relationships with both employees, customers, advisers, suppliers and subcontractors. At the same time you contribute to good internal collaboration and are happy to share your experience and expertise with colleagues.

You will be paid an individually negotiated fixed monthly salary plus pension and health insurance. In addition, a company car, mobile, PC and necessary equipment are provided.

Entreprenørfirmaet Gustav H. Christensen A/S was established in 1974, where the tasks primarily consisted of site development and smaller road works. One of the larger tasks was, among other things, to help expand the main road from Tjørring and into Herning.

At the beginning of 1982 there were about 20 employees in the company. Today there are about 80 employees, and when needed, capacity is expanded through collaboration with skilled subcontractors.
