Christiansen & Essenbæk A/S is a Danish general contractor, which since its foundation in 1971 has developed into one of the leading companies when it comes to concrete renovation, concrete maintenance and injection – just as we have extensive expertise in traffic regulation, demolition & environmental remediation, earth and sewer, foundation and structural concrete as well as surface treatment.

We perform any task in commercial, residential, public construction projects, urban renewal, operation and maintenance of buildings as well as civil engineering, service and environmental works throughout Denmark and the Nordic region.

Christiansen & Essenbæk is an independent limited company with an expected turnover of about DKK 500 million for the current year. The company currently employs 260 hourly-paid employees and a staff of 100 office workers.

The company is 100% owned by Murersvendenes Finans A/S, a foundation-owned and financially strong group, which today owns four contracting companies: Murersvendenes Aktieselskab (founded 1899), Christiansen & Essenbæk A/S (1971), Dansk Fundering (2005) and Centrum Entreprise (1989), which together constitute some of the country’s most experienced and specialized players in concrete, masonry, foundation and surface works.

We are the Nordic leader in the injection area and work on everything from the Hansen family’s basement to the country’s largest construction projects. We take good care of Danish infrastructure and are generally known for our innovative approach as well as our knowledge center and strong knowledge transfer to the country’s advisors and other skilled professionals in the industry.

About the job

We are seeking a project manager / project leader for the Jutland division for injection. Our total injection department consists of about 90 employees in total, where the Jutland division, which is in strong development, currently consists of 8 employees. Here you will start as a project manager / project leader with responsibility for the Jutland injection team, and in time the position may be expanded with additional exciting leadership challenges.

You will be attached to Christiansen & Essenbæk’s office in Hedensted, but with current warehouse in Aalborg and a substantial amount of activity in the Aarhus area, you can expect travel – primarily in Jutland but occasionally also to other parts of the country if assistance is needed on additional projects. You report to the head of the injection department and will be part of a close and constructive collaboration with your colleagues across the country.

You will become part of a professionally strong organization where cooperation and quality are in focus. You will be responsible for the daily management of the injection section in Jutland, and together with the head of department you will continue to develop and strengthen the company’s competences and professional expertise in the area. You will plan and lead projects and work closely with customers and partners throughout the project lifecycle – from offers and site assessments to delivery.

Your main areas of responsibility will be to

• Plan and lead projects, possibly in collaboration with foremen
• Work in a structured way with budgets and deliver regular financial reporting
• Ensure timely and comprehensive invoicing and proper handling of supplier invoices
• Maintain close dialogue with customers – before, during and after projects – so they have a good experience throughout
• Ensure that all tasks on the construction site are clearly communicated, coordinated and executed with the right quality
• Contribute to recruitment, development and well-being among employees in the section
• Contribute to ongoing development and improvement of internal processes
• Prepare offers and conduct site inspections according to applicable procedures
• Take responsibility for a good working environment and follow applicable rules and guidelines
• Make necessary purchases and ensure that materials are ordered in good time
• Maintain polite, professional and timely communication with partners
• Ensure proper documentation, timesheets and updates in calendars and systems
• Actively contribute to updating sales and presentation materials
• Participate in relevant courses and continuing education.

About you

We envision that you possess the following professional and personal characteristics

• You have experience as a project manager, project supervisor, construction manager, contract manager and/or foreman, possibly from injection tasks or other concrete renovation tasks
• You have a construction-technical background – e.g. as a building engineer, architect, or a craft-based background, preferably as a mason or structural worker. Other relevant backgrounds can also be used
• You have knowledge of concrete renovation products such as epoxy and polyurethane
• You have an interest in (but not necessarily experience with) injection
• You preferably have experience with budgets, calculations and use of Excel
• You are structured and responsible and work systematically to follow up on tasks to completion
• You thrive on travel across especially Jutland and with a close presence at construction sites
• You are visible, engaged and proactive in your approach to both tasks and people
• You contribute to close and constructive collaboration with colleagues, customers and partners
• You demonstrate modern and trustful leadership and contribute with a solution-oriented mindset
• You communicate clearly and create a good, positive atmosphere around you.
