About the position

We handle many different types of tasks, varying in scope and complexity. We carry out alterations and renovations in existing buildings, where construction expertise, knowledge of the AB system and procurement rules, process optimization, user involvement and financial management come into play.

We are looking for an independent and preferably experienced project manager, who also has a focus on construction management to help us in a busy daily life. You will primarily be based in Viborg, but you will need to travel to all four sites at Skive, Hammel, Silkeborg and Viborg. You will be welcomed in the department and thoroughly introduced to our working routines and, among other things, receive a mentoring program at your start.

It is important that you can work with dedication and independence and create an overview for management and your colleagues in your tasks. You will receive the back up you need in a well collaborating project management team.

Your tasks will include

• Take the lead as project manager from planning with users through to execution and commissioning
• Project manage large and small construction projects – focusing on adherence to schedules, structure, budget, quality, and clear, good communication
• Act as the client representative on projects, including being able to carry out construction management, and ensure that agreements and deadlines are met
• Ensure that construction projects are carried out with due regard to both construction and hospital operations
• Coordinate construction projects with relevant stakeholders

The job typically has a steep learning curve, as hospital construction involves many stakeholders, is technically complex and very exciting. It is therefore an advantage, but not a necessity, that you have knowledge of hospital construction. The most important is that you are a good project manager and construction manager, quick to grasp, independent, and good at asking questions when you are in doubt.

About the right applicant

• Have a relevant construction background, preferably engineer or constructor, with several years of experience under your belt.
• Are outgoing. The job has a large contact surface, so it is important that you find it easy to talk to people.
• Are a finisher. You should be structured, have an overview and be motivated by checking off tasks.
• Trives with a daily mix of paperwork in the office and construction management on site.
• Have a good mood, are positive and outgoing – and tolerate a humorous, informal tone.
• Speak and write Danish.

About the department

Construction and Project acts as the client with regard to construction projects, maintenance and renovations of HE Midt's buildings in Skive, Viborg, Hammel and Silkeborg. The department is also responsible for managing how HE Midt's square meters (nearly 250,000 m2) are used, including room layouts and the overall plans that govern these tasks. We maintain HE Midt's drawing archive, work continuously with digitization, sustainable construction, building inspections, etc. We also project-manage development tasks at HE Midt in connection with some of our construction projects.

The department reports to hospital management and is organizationally part of a hospital community at HE Midt.

Hospitalsenhed Midt consists of the regional hospitals in Viborg, Silkeborg, Hammel and Skive – which together form a hospital unit with a strong professional profile. Due to the complexity and breadth of the specialities, the hospital unit is one of the widest specialised hospital units in Jutland. The four hospitals with a total of about 4,800 employees have roughly 450,000 outpatient visits annually and discharge about 60,000 patients after admission.
