QC Specialist, Microbiology

Would you like to work with microbiological quality control of medicines in a GMP-regulated laboratory environment?

Then you may be the QC specialist we are looking for for a temporary position in Team Microbiology at ALS Odense.

ALS Odense is a well-established GMP contract laboratory with more than 30 years of experience. We offer microbiological and chemical analyses as well as stability studies and support our customers' quality control throughout the product life cycle, from development to release. We are about 35 employees and have 3,200 m² of modern laboratory and office facilities.

About the position

As a QC Specialist in Team Microbiology you will be a central part of the work to ensure high professional quality, data integrity and GMP compliance in our microbiological analyses.

The team primarily performs classic microbiological analyses in accordance with pharmacopoeias such as Ph. Eur. and USP or similar standards, including testing for microbial contamination, bacterial endotoxins, potency determination of antibiotics and probiotics, as well as environmental monitoring.

Your main responsibilities and tasks will be to

· Approve and quality-assure data from microbiological analyses and report results to customers.

· Interpret, implement and maintain methods in collaboration with the team.

· Qualify and maintain laboratory equipment, including autoclaves, incubators as well as create and space for storage of stability studies.

· Handle deviations, OOS cases, change control and CAPAs related to analyses and equipment.

· Contribute to ongoing improvement and optimization of the laboratory's processes and workflows.

You will be part of a dedicated team consisting of three technicians, a laboratory assistant and another QC Specialist. Together the team ensures delivery of high-quality microbiological analyses to our customers. In addition, you will have access to an international network of microbiological specialists across ALS Global.

Your qualifications

You have a master's degree in biomedicine, molecular biology, pharmacy or a corresponding natural science field. Experience with microbiological analyses of medicines and GMP is an advantage but not a requirement. The most important thing is that you enjoy working in a quality-oriented GMP environment and have an interest in classical microbiology.
