job details
Are you motivated to drive quality and occupational health and safety efforts from start to finish, and do you thrive in a role close to the production floor?
On behalf of Simpson Strong-Tie we are seeking a proactive and outgoing QEHS Manager for the company's new, state-of-the-art factory in Horsens.
A central role with lots of responsibility and influence
...
As QEHS Manager you will have a key role where you can largely influence the future quality and safety culture at a completely new location. You join a global and well-established production company with deep East Jutland roots that is professionalizing the business.
You will be overall responsible for the QEHS area with direct reporting to the Factory Manager, and you will join an environment with high ceilings and room for smiles. The role is highly operational with a strong presence on the production floor. Rather than leading from behind a screen, you are expected to be a visible player on the floor, who can build bridges and create strong coherence across the organization. The culture bears the mark of a strong family feel built on good Danish industrial traditions, and it is out on the floor among the approx. 60 colleagues on the production line where value is created.
Your day-to-day will include, among other things
- Manage ISO and quality: You further develop and maintain the Quality Management System (ISO:9001) with focus on continuous improvements, and you ensure effective handling of deviations.
- Promote a safe working environment: You coordinate the occupational safety effort in close cooperation with the occupational safety organization, act as facilitator for AMR and prepare risk assessments.
- Tie the strands internally and externally: You train and inform employees about new initiatives, plan and conduct internal and supplier audits, and you have the primary dialogue with relevant authorities regarding requirements, inspections and reporting.
Your professional and personal profile
To succeed in the role, it is essential that you have practical experience with quality and occupational health and safety management, including solid knowledge of ISO:9001. Your exact industry background is less important, but it is a big plus if you know the daily life in a manufacturing company. Since you become part of a global matrix organization, it is required that you communicate fluently in English so you can easily spar with the European leadership and your international colleagues.
We are looking for a profile with a strong personal drive who is motivated to work independently. The scope of tasks is broad, and it requires you to proactively take ownership of initiatives on the factory floor. For the same reason, the role can also be a fantastic match for an ambitious profile with somewhat fewer years of experience. If you have experience with the various QEHS areas and are ready to take the next big step, you will have ample opportunity to grow with the responsibility.
As a person you are approachable and a skilled relationship builder who listens before acting. Good collaboration skills are simply the key to success in this role. You show natural respect for the culture and the highly experienced colleagues, but you also dare to take a stand and make the necessary decisions when the situation requires it.
What the company offers.
At Simpson Strong-Tie you get a unique professional opportunity to make a tangible impact. You join a global growth-oriented company where you have full and independent responsibility to drive the local QEHS area. Since production has just moved into a brand-new top-modern factory in Horsens, you will have the best possible framework to build and shape the future quality and safety culture from the ground up.
In addition to strong professional development opportunities, the social aspect and wellbeing are valued extremely highly. You will land in an inclusive culture and a thorough onboarding program ensures you are properly equipped from day one. You will also become part of an active employee association that protects the strong social cohesion and ensures it is always fun to go to work together.
