Do you enjoy cooking good food, meeting many different people, and having a daily life where no two days are necessarily the same? Do you want to experiment with green and sustainable alternatives in the kitchen and help develop a café where health, community, and joy of food go hand in hand?

Kulturhus Herredsvang is a diverse house with room for everyone. Here, residents, associations, volunteers, municipal staff, and partners meet across age, culture, and background. The café is a natural gathering point in the house and an important part of the life and communities that arise here.

About the job

The café is open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Here we serve coffee, morning buns, a hot lunch dish, and cake. In addition, the café handles meeting catering for the house's many activities and events.

As a café employee you will be responsible for the daily operation of the café. You will among other things work with:

• Planning of the menu and cooking
• Purchasing and ordering goods
• Serving the café guests
• Meeting catering and events
• Dishwashing and cleaning
• Food handling, self-checks, and hygiene
• Coordination and training of interns in the café
• Cooperation with the house staff, volunteers, and other partners
• You will also have good opportunities to put your own mark on the café and help develop it.

A café in development

We are continuously working to develop the café with a focus on healthy, green, and climate-friendly food . This happens, among other things, in collaboration with Aarhus Municipality and KlimaLivingLab Herredsvang.

We want to offer our guests tasty and flavorful meals where green alternatives take up more space, without compromising the joy of eating. Therefore, we hope you are curious, ready to try new ideas, and willing to help develop the café's kitchen and menu.

The Cultural House is also undergoing a development process, where the house will eventually accommodate a health house. Here, the café will play an important role in creating good conditions for health and community.

We are looking for you who

• Enjoy cooking and want to experiment with green and sustainable alternatives
• Are welcoming and enjoy meeting people from different cultural and social backgrounds
• Have initiative and take responsibility for daily operations
• Can keep an overview and prioritize when there are many tasks at once
• Have a sense of good service and that everyone feels welcome in the café
• Can work independently, but also thrive in close cooperation with colleagues and volunteers
• It is an advantage if you have experience with self-checks and food hygiene, but the most important thing is that you want the task and to be an active part of Kulturhus Herredsvang.
• You should be prepared to work one Saturday a month
