Re-advertisement: Class teacher for 2nd grade at Steiner School starting January 1

Kristofferskolen is a friskole, based on Rudolf Steiner's educational principles. Here art, craft and professionalism come together in inspiring teaching. Our school is located in the green surroundings in Trekroner near Roskilde.

We strive for a sustainable and inclusive everyday life, where with joy and engagement we shape the students into independent, responsible and initiative-taking people. The school has about 270 pupils from kindergarten to 9th grade as well as its own after-school program (SFO) and club.

We are seeking an engaged class teacher for our 2nd grade. You will be an important adult for a wonderful and lively group of children who greet the school day with curiosity, energy and different ways of being in the world. The class needs a teacher who wants to get to know the children well, build community and create a safe and recognizable daily life with clear boundaries.

We therefore hope to find a teacher who can stand confidently in the classroom and meet the children with warmth, humor and presence, and who regards relationship work as a natural part of good teaching.

We offer

• A close collaboration with experienced and engaged colleagues in the early years.
• A strong academic and pedagogical community around the class.
• A well-functioning school with strong traditions and a lively collegial community.
• A mentoring scheme tailored to your needs and experiences.
• A high degree of influence and the possibility to shape daily life around the class.
• A workplace focused on balance between work life and private life, with no full-time presence requirement.

We imagine that you

• Are a trained teacher and preferably have teaching experience.
• Have interest in or experience with Steiner education.
• Are a clear and calm classroom leader who can create good and recognizable frameworks.
• Have an eye for both the individual child and the class community.
• Meet the pupils with curiosity, presence and engagement.
• Thrive in close collaboration with colleagues and parents.
• Have a desire to step into the class teacher role and create continuity, joy of learning and a good daily life for 2nd grade.

There is a permanent position of about 80%-100%, including the class teacher function in 2nd grade as well as teaching in relevant subjects by agreement.

Start date: 1 January
