Repost: Børnehuset Akeleje moves into a new building and is therefore seeking two pedagogues.

We have opened new rooms in a completely newly built children’s house, and therefore still need a couple of lovely colleagues.

Børnehuset Akeleje opened almost 4 years ago. By June 2026 we have moved into our lovely newly built house. Therefore we are now looking for two more pedagogues to continue and develop the good pedagogical work. One position is in the kindergarten, the other in the nursery.

We are a workplace with high pedagogical ambitions, an informal approach to one another, and lots of good laughs and humor in daily life. We work to create a living together in Akeleje where the child’s voice is the most important and the adults are adjusting, responsible, and setting the framework with a focus on the child and the children’s community.

We are missing a pedagogue in the kindergarten and one in the nursery.

Akeleje’s pedagogical practice In Akeleje we are professionally focused on the child’s initiative, the present moment, and creating important childhood memories that form the foundation for the child’s understanding of themselves as an individual and in an important community.

We work from a view of children where children are resourceful and have meaningful knowledge about themselves. This means that we understand that children need to practice being exactly who they are many times - and that children in various contexts develop internal mastery strategies far more than external ones. Therefore we must create good pedagogical experiential environments, which the children can try and develop their mastery strategies through.

In the most recent inspection report from Børnehuset Akeleje it stated: ”A positive mood is observed throughout the day. Adults’ interest in the children is evident and seen especially in the adults’ acknowledgment of the children’s initiatives and inclusion of the children’s perspectives in play and activities. It is particularly highlighted that a positive tone is heard toward the children throughout the day.”

Time for preparation Professionalism and pedagogical quality are essential to succeed with the political ambition to create strong communities for all children and young people, and that requires time and space for immersion, reflection and collaboration for the pedagogical staff. In Roskilde Municipality it is politically prioritized that all houses are allocated preparation time.

The preparation time should give staff the opportunity to work more systematically with the core task, and at the same time create better frameworks for the professional development, well-being, job satisfaction, and strong communities – without compromising on children’s time and staffing.

The working hours for both positions are 32-37 hours per week.
