About the job

Every day, young people and adults encounter democracy at Christiansborg. As a parliamentary guard in the Outreach Group, you help make the meeting lively, relevant and meaningful – and contribute to the ongoing development of our teaching and dissemination.

The path to the job may vary. The crucial thing is that you have experience with teaching or cultural outreach and can create engaging encounters with different audiences. You must be able to communicate in English and have basic IT skills. Knowledge of didactics is an advantage.

Your primary tasks

  • Make democracy come alive in teaching for school groups and in tours for different audiences.
  • Open the doors to the Parliament's work and actively use Christiansborg’s history, architecture, art and everyday life in the outreach.
  • Create dialogue and safe learning environments and meet guests where they are.
  • Be involved in developing and improving visitor formats based on evaluations and feedback.
  • Contribute to the daily operations of the Visitor Service and to a professional reception of Parliament guests.

Your workplace

You will become part of the Outreach Group in the Service and Security Unit, whose primary tasks are to teach schoolchildren in our teaching offers “You and Democracy”, “Who Decides” and the interactive learning game “Politician for a Day”. In addition, the group also handles tours with various themes, contributes to development of outreach content and performs other guard duties during holidays and at events.

The Service and Security Unit consists of about 70 parliamentary guards. Together we ensure daily life at Christiansborg runs and provide service, security and safety for Members of Parliament, staff and guests.

Your profile

You are used to teaching or communicating and can lead a group. You make democracy come alive and relevant, invite guests into the conversation and create both structure and security.

You read the situation, communicate calmly and professionally and dare to make independent decisions – even when pace increases.

We expect you to be curious about your own practice and use professional sparring, feedback and evaluations to become better. You share your experiences and actively contribute to the group's collective professional development.

You do not need to know the Parliament in depth from day one. Through training you build up the professional and didactic knowledge the role requires. In return, you should be curious about democracy and eager to learn.

Salary and employment terms

You will be employed under the applicable collective agreement. The starting salary is DKK 28,508 and the final salary is DKK 30,578. Salary is set based on a concrete assessment of your experience. In addition comes a Parliament allowance of DKK 2,856 per month, as well as a joint qualification allowance of DKK 244 per month. We would like the position filled as soon as possible.

You must be prepared for changing working hours, including evening, holiday, and weekend shifts. Employment requires that you can obtain security clearance, and that the clearance can be maintained throughout the employment.

You will undergo the Parliament's guard training as part of the employment.

Information and application

You can hear more about the position from Service and Security Chief Jacob Glahn at telephone number 3337 5613 from week 43 on weekdays between 15.00-16.00.

Applications must be submitted electronically via the job posting on the Parliament's website www.ft.dk.

Application deadline: Wednesday, 28 October 2026 at 12.00.
